Rams WR Depth Chart Features Another WR1-Caliber Player

On a one-on-one jump ball play in the end zone against Ravens cornerback Marlon Humphrey, he and Nacua appeared to get tangled up, and the Rams receiver hit the ground awkwardly.

He was seen in visible pain, getting up and attempting to walk off under his own power, but he fell back to the turf.

Right now, it’s being labeled as a foot injury, and he’s questionable to return to the game, per NFL Network’s Ian Rapoport.

It’s unclear what type of injury it is and whether he’ll return to the game or miss more time. He’s been the go-to guy on this team, helping elevate the Rams to the eighth-best grade per PFSN’s Offense Impact metric at 83.3.

Preparing for the worst-case scenario, though, who else do the Rams have on the roster at the wide receiver position?

Davante Adams

With Nacua down, Adams immediately steps into the WR1 role. The 32-year-old wide receiver is in his first season with the Rams, and through Week 5, he’s caught 22 passes on 46 targets for 357 yards and three touchdowns. He’s seen double-digit targets in two games and caught a touchdown over three straight weeks (Weeks 2 to 4).

Should Nacua miss time, Adams would see plenty more targets and be quarterback Matthew Stafford’s go-to guy. When Nacua isn’t on the field, his target share is a staggering 30.8%.

Jordan Whittington

Whittington is in his second season after being drafted No. 213 in the sixth round of the 2024 NFL Draft. He has a 6.2% team target share and only runs a route on 46.2% of his quarterback’s dropbacks.

That said, he’s the third-most utilized wide receiver on the Rams roster after Nacua and Adams, and has seen a 15.4% team target share when Nacua hasn’t been on the field.

Tutu Atwell

The Rams drafted Atwell in the second round of the 2021 NFL Draft as the 57th overall. He has just a 4.6% team target share. He caught one pass for 88 yards and a touchdown in Week 4. He’s nothing more than an occasional deep threat.

Kyren Williams

The team’s starting running back, Williams, is second on the Rams in team target share at 10.8%. He’s caught 16 passes on 21 targets for 118 yards and three touchdowns.

He’ll continue to be used as a pass catcher.

Tyler Higbee

The starting tight end, Higbee, has caught just seven passes on 12 targets for 86 yards. He is a veteran, and his experience will pay off.
