Amid another difficult season for the Cleveland Browns, one of the few positive developments of 2025 came to a halt in Week 16 after Quinshon Judkins suffered an injury.
The rookie running back was carted off to the locker room after suffering a concerning lower-body injury against the Buffalo Bills.
Quinshon Judkins Injury Update
This past Monday, Browns head coach Kevin Stefanski confirmed that Judkins will soon have surgery to address his injury, and the running back has avoided any major knee injury.
Judkins had surgery on Tuesday, and there was an update regarding his recovery timeline. “Browns say 4-6 months recovery time for RB Quinshon Judkins after successful surgery on fractured fibula & dislocated ankle,” wrote Tony Grossi on X.
With only two games remaining in a season where Cleveland sits at 3-12, Kevin Stefanski was likely not overly concerned about the Cleveland Browns’ running back depth over the final stretch.
Instead, the bigger worry was that a diagnosis involving knee ligament damage could have sidelined Judkins, the No. 36 overall pick in the 2025 NFL draft, for a meaningful portion of next season as well.

Since Judkins dodged ligament damage in his knee, and with a projected return by the summer, the Browns can expect to head into camp with the former Ohio State star healthy and ready for his sophomore season.
He finished his rookie season with 827 rushing yards and seven touchdowns on 230 carries in 14 games, averaging 3.6 yards per carry. Judkins also had 26 receptions for 171 yards on 36 targets. According to PFSN’s RB Impact metric, the Browns’ rookie is the 37th-ranked running back in the league this year with an impact score of 72.8. and is graded C-.
Cleveland Browns’ Stats and Insights for Week 17
Team: According to the PFSN Playoff Predictor, the Browns enter the game with a 15.1% chance of getting the first overall pick in the draft. A loss increases the chances to 24.9% while a win knocks them out of contention for the top pick.
QB: Shedeur Sanders has a 56.6 (F) QBi this season, which is 44th out of 46 qualified quarterbacks.
Offense: The Browns scored 20 points against the Buffalo Bills in Week 16, which is tied for the fourth-most points they scored this season.
Defense: Myles Garrett has 22.0 sacks on the season, a half a sack behind the single-season record held by Michael Strahan and T.J. Watt.
Fantasy: Harold Fannin caught a TD on Sunday and ran in one from the doorstep in a spot where he was used as their fullback. This offense is a work in progress, but Fannin appears to be a Tier 2 option at the thinnest position in our game: invest with confidence.
