It’s been a disaster of a 2025 NFL season for Geno Smith and the Las Vegas Raiders’ offense. After a rough showing on “Thursday Night Football” against the Denver Broncos to kick off Week 10, Smith is having another terrible showing in primetime.
Moreover, one NFL legend isn’t sugarcoating what he saw on one of the veteran quarterback’s interceptions in their Week 11 contest against the Dallas Cowboys on “Monday Night Football.”
Peyton Manning Doesn’t Hold Back on Raiders’ Geno Smith
On the “Manningcast” broadcast of the Raiders-Cowboys game, former NFL quarterback didn’t hide his frustration with Smith, who threw another interception.
“Oh, no, no, no, no,” Manning said as he reacted to the interception from Smith. “Eli, guess who was open? The checkdown again. [Ashton] Jeanty again on the swing route, same thing.”
The former Indianapolis Colts quarterback didn’t just offer that reaction; he analyzed the entire play and the mistake that Smith made that led to the Raiders’ turnover in the second quarter.

“Linebackers kept sinking, they sink, check it down, they got their hands on it, tipped ball; damn [and a] good drive too,” Manning added. “… Watch the running back. Watch him. After the fake, look at him out there.
“He gets hit, but still, look at him. Throw it to him. Those linebackers are going to bite the fake. Look, watch him. He bites the fake, but now he’s going to turn and run. He’s going to turn and run.”
Eli Manning Defends Geno Smith
While the former Colts star was expressing his frustration with how Smith read the play, his younger brother, Eli Manning, tried to get into the eyes of the Raiders quarterback to explain what the veteran might have been seeing that led him to make that pass.
“Good job by the linebacker,” the younger Manning said. “Just getting his head turned around. Had the back to him. I think Geno is trying to throw it, assuming that guy’s not going to be able to turn his back in time to get his hand on that. Just tough. You’re trying to make a play. I wouldn’t say it’s forcing it in there, but just got to make a good play sometimes.”
Turnovers have been a theme for Smith, who currently ranks 24th in PFSN’s Quarterback Impact (QBi), this season, and the interception against the Cowboys marks the third straight game in which the opposing defense has picked off the Las Vegas signal-caller.
