Tank Dell has not had a smooth start to his NFL career. The speedy wide receiver was drafted in the third round of the 2023 NFL Draft, and he’s had multiple serious injuries already.
Dell suffered a knee injury near the end of the 2024 season that kept him out for all of 2025. However, the NFL world is buzzing after the speedster posted a workout video on his social media on Friday.
Tank Dell Looks Impressive in Latest Workout
After being drafted in 2023, Dell played in 11 games as a rookie with eight starts. Dell ended his rookie campaign with 47 catches for 709 yards and seven touchdowns.
However, the following summer, Dell was injured in a shooting in his native Florida. The receiver recovered and played 14 games for the Texans in 2024 before suffering a devastating injury in Week 16.
Dell collided with a teammate and ended up suffering a dislocated knee, multiple torn ligaments, and meniscus damage. The injury prevented Dell from playing in 2025, and many worried the receiver would never be the same.
If Friday’s post is any indication, though, Dell should be just fine. The receiver posted a video of himself doing some cone work and running routes on the field. Dell looked as explosive as ever and seemingly had no problem cutting.
It even looks like the receiver has added some muscle to his slender frame. Pointing at that, Polymarket Football commented, “Tank Dell looks great 👀.”

A couple of former NFL players weighed in on Dell’s progress. Seth Payne, who played for the Texans from 2002 to 2006 and now hosts a radio show, simply responded to the footage by saying “sweet mercy.”
Tazim Wajid Wajed, father of Green Bay Packers wide receiver Christian Watson, said Dell’s recovery was a pleasant sight. “This is awesome to see,” said Wajed. “That was an ugly injury, but it looks like this young man will use the setback to catapult himself to the next level during his comeback.” The hope is that Dell will be ready to play in Week 1 and contribute to the Texans in 2026.
Dell Could Help Texans’ Offense Reach New Level in 2026
The Texans had a solid season in 2025, earning a 12-5 record and reaching the playoffs. However, especially towards the end of the season, the offense left much to be desired.
PFSN’s Offense Impact metric gave the team a 70.9 grade, which ranked 23rd in the league. Meanwhile, the defense received an elite 89.4 grade, good for 2nd in the league, according to PFSN’s Defense Impact metric.
If the offense can step up to match the defense, the Texans can be scary. A healthy Dell could make the difference, as he has the potential to be one of the best deep threats in the league if healthy.
