The Dallas Cowboys have already been buyers ahead of the 2025 NFL trade deadline and are rumored to be seeking additional moves. Their Week 9 loss to the Arizona Cardinals drops their record to just 3-5-1, so they have work to do if they want to get back into the playoff picture.
Jerry Jones has always been active in making moves to improve his roster, potentially, and he has apparently been busy as the deadline approaches. He is reportedly targeting some of the top names that are rumored to be available this year.
Cowboys Targeting Blockbuster Move Ahead of 2025 NFL Trade Deadline
The Cowboys recently acquired Cincinnati Bengals linebacker Logan Wilson ahead of the 2025 NFL trade deadline. They have been among the worst defenses this season by many measures, so improving on this side of the ball may increase their chances of making a run in the second half of the season.
They are rumored to be seeking additional help on defense and have recently been linked to Miami Dolphins safety Minkah Fitzpatrick. Rickey Scoops, who has built a reliable reputation for sharing realistic trade rumors, recently posted an update on this developing situation.
“The Cowboys have an offer to the Dolphins for Minkah Fitzpatrick, but that would be the backup plan if they can’t land a pass rusher,” stated Rickey.

He previously reported that Dallas has reached out to the Dolphins about Bradley Chubb, as well as the Bengals, to inquire about Trey Hendrickson. They are apparently prioritizing an edge rusher to add to their defense, but are also willing to upgrade their secondary.
Sounds like the #Dolphins will be moving Bradley Chubb today. The #Cowboys and #49ers are the most likely destinations.

Dallas traded away superstar edge rusher Micah Parsons to the Green Bay Packers during the offseason, so they are apparently looking to replace him. Their defense has been tormented all season long, so any upgrades to the unit would likely be beneficial. They are currently allowing the second-most yards and points per game this year.

This includes their rumored interest in Fitzpatrick, who has been one of the best defensive backs in the league during his career. He has earned five Pro Bowl selections and has ranked among the top ten in PFSN’s Safety Impact Rankings in two of his seasons. He currently ranks 21st among safeties this year with a 78.7 score.
The veteran began his career with the Dolphins in 2018 before joining the Pittsburgh Steelers in 2019. He was traded back to Miami this year, but could apparently be on the move again ahead of the 2025 NFL trade deadline with Dallas’ rumored interest in acquiring him.
