PFSN 5 Vikings Players To Watch vs. the Bears in Week 11

Here are the five Minnesota Viking players who will shape Sunday’s outcome at U.S. Bank Stadium against the Chicago Bears.

The Vikings return to U.S. Bank Stadium with a chance to reset their season and climb back to .500. Chicago arrives at 6-3, playing its best football under head coach Ben Johnson, and brings a dangerous combination of downhill rushing and explosive off-script quarterback play.

Minnesota needs sharp execution and standout performances from its core players. These are the five Vikings who will shape Sunday’s outcome.

Justin Jefferson

Minnesota needs its star receiver to reclaim the urgency that defines his best stretches. Jefferson finished with only four catches for 37 yards last week and acknowledged publicly that he must elevate his play. Chicago’s secondary is beatable. Jaylon Johnson will play, but the Bears have allowed one of the highest explosive pass rates in the league.

Jefferson has a long history of dominating Chicago’s coverage, and his ability to win early in routes will determine how aggressive head coach Kevin O’Connell can be with the passing game. He is one of the game’s most dominant playmakers, ranking 17th in PFSN’s WRi.

J.J. McCarthy

This is another important checkpoint in the second-year quarterback’s development. McCarthy has shown flashes, but inconsistency is all over his tape. Chicago is likely to test him differently than in Week 1. Bears defensive coordinator Dennis Allen could dial up more third-down pressure and use disguised fronts designed to force hesitation.

McCarthy must trust his reads and consistently deliver accurate throws. The Bears are susceptible to deep digs, overs, and boundary fades. The opportunities will be there. McCarthy’s ability to avoid drive-killing mistakes will decide whether Minnesota can finish drives with touchdowns.

Dallas Turner

Containing Caleb Williams requires discipline, redirect speed, and the ability to close space without losing leverage. Turner provides all three, and his role becomes even more important with Jonathan Greenard ruled out.

Williams is the most mobile quarterback Minnesota has faced this season and has produced highlight plays by escaping clean rush lanes. Turner must set firm edges and punish extended plays. His matchup against Chicago’s tackles will be one of the most important of the afternoon.

Aaron Jones

Jones’ usage will be critical. When he is active and involved, Minnesota’s offense is versatile. Chicago’s front, anchored by Andrew Billings and Gervon Dexter Sr., is physical but not impenetrable. Jones presents the type of east-west and north-south versatility that stresses linebackers and holds safeties in place.

The Vikings need balance to keep Chicago from sitting on McCarthy’s dropbacks. If Jones can control early downs, generate chunk yardage on the edges, and serve as a reliable outlet in the passing game, Minnesota can dictate tempo and keep the Bears off balance.

Vikings Offensive Line

This unit is under the spotlight. Minnesota must commit to running the ball effectively to control the game’s flow. With Darrisaw, Brian O’Neill, and Will Fries available, the line has the talent to stabilize the offense.

Chicago does not produce quick pressure outside of Montez Sweat, but Allen will manufacture it through overloads and slot pressures. McCarthy needs clean pockets and a reliable run game that allows Minnesota to control the down-and-distance script. The line’s performance often determines the Vikings’ identity. It will be again on Sunday.
