NFL Analyst Makes Feelings Clear About Bo Nix

The Denver Broncos are 8-2, the first team to eight wins, but that’s not stopping the national media from pointing out the team’s biggest flaw: the passing offense. ESPN’s Bart Scott is the latest person to sound off on quarterback Bo Nix. In fact, the former was at the London game the Broncos played against the New York Jets.

Bart Scott Sounds Off on Bo NIx

Scott said, “This is a team being held back by their quarterback. We just got to have to call a spade a spade. I was in that London game; it was horrible. It was hard to watch. They’re getting away with smoke and mirrors, throwing a lot of balls behind the line of scrimmage. He’s not accurate. He’s not making plays down the field. And he’s been held up by the defense. … This isn’t sustainable, and they’re setting themselves up to be a one-and-done team.”

Through 27 games, here are Nix’s 17-game averages below.

371-of-577 passing for a 64.2 completion percentage, 3,715 yards, 30 touchdowns, 13 interceptions, 6.4 yards per attempt, 218.6 yards per game, and a 90.4 passer rating.

In addition, 88 carries for 400 yards, four touchdowns, and 23.5 rushing yards per game.

Nix is on the doorstep of greatness if he can become consistent and make slight improvements. It’s the past two games against the Houston Texans and the Las Vegas Raiders, respectively, that have caused talking heads to sound off.

After Scott sounded off, the talking heads continued. They pointed out in a passing league, the Broncos can’t dominate offensively, and that the only team Denver’s beaten with a winning record is the Philadelphia Eagles.

It’s valid criticism. After a blocked punt that set up field position inside the red zone, the Broncos kicked a field goal. And after an interception to set up a short field, Denver punted.

After a fast start as a rookie, the talking heads concluded, saying that Nix is pressing. This is still a QB with four come-from-behind wins on the season. During the mini bye, head coach Sean Payton will have to address Nix. We’ll see the changes the Broncos make against the Kansas City Chiefs in Week 11. For now, Nix is No. 16 in PSFN’s QB Impact Score.

Tell me you don’t know ball without telling me you don’t know ball.
