Week 6 NFL Power Rankings: Cardinals, Eagles Fall After Blowing Big Leads, Colts Continue to Rise

Week 5 of the 2025 NFL season brought plenty of notable moments. One of the remaining undefeated teams took their first loss of the year, while one of the remaining winless teams got into the win column. These games, among many others, lead to movement in our PFSN power rankings this week compared to last week. Here’s how the league is shaping up five weeks into the season.

    32) Tennessee Titans

    • Last Week’s Ranking: 32
    • Offense Rank: 32
    • Defense Rank: 26
    • Playoff Odds: 4.10%

In one of the more improbable comebacks in recent memory, the Tennessee Titans put together 19 unanswered points to defeat the Cardinals on Sunday, giving them their first win of the 2025 NFL season.

Cam Ward deserves a lot of credit for stepping up in the clutch and bringing the Titans back from their deficit to secure the win. A lot of luck bounced their way in the second half, but to Tennessee’s credit, they were opportunistic enough to cash in every time.

    31) Cincinnati Bengals

    • Last Week’s Ranking: 31
    • Offense Rank: 31
    • Defense Rank: 27
    • Playoff Odds: 22.00%

With a 2-3 record through their first five games, the Cincinnati Bengals hardly have the worst record in the NFL right now. But given how they’ve lost their last three games, one could argue there isn’t a team colder in the league than the Jake Browning-led Bengals.

Cincinnati dropped its Sunday matchup to the Lions, and Browning has four interceptions in his last three games. He and Ja’Marr Chase connected for two touchdowns, but the Bengals’ offense was generally pretty ineffective outside garbage time.

    30) Las Vegas Raiders

    • Last Week’s Ranking: 25
    • Offense Rank: 28
    • Defense Rank: 25
    • Playoff Odds: 5.30%

Things looked encouraging enough for the Las Vegas Raiders after Week 1, when they defeated the Patriots. After dropping four games in a row beyond that, however, they sit at 1-4 and need to do some serious soul-searching.

It’s not just that the Raiders lost in Week 5; it’s how they lost. As hot as the Colts are right now, a 40-6 loss to anybody in the NFL will be demoralizing. Geno Smith has thrown an alarming nine interceptions under center for Las Vegas through five games this year.

    29) New Orleans Saints

    • Last Week’s Ranking: 30
    • Offense Rank: 26
    • Defense Rank: 24
    • Playoff Odds: 5.80%

With their win over the Giants on Sunday, the New Orleans Saints are in the win column for the first time this year. It’s also the first time quarterback Spencer Rattler has won as a starting QB in the NFL, which is undoubtedly an accomplishment that feels good after how rocky 2025 has been for him and his team.

An 87-yard touchdown pass from Rattler to Rashid Shaheed helped give the Saints the shot in the arm their offense desperately needed. Their defense also stepped up in Week 5, intercepting Jaxson Dart twice and holding the Giants to 14 points.

    28) Cleveland Browns

    • Last Week’s Ranking: 27
    • Offense Rank: 30
    • Defense Rank: 11
    • Playoff Odds: 12.40%

The Cleveland Browns were competitive on Sunday in Dillon Gabriel’s debut as an NFL starting quarterback, but the QB change wasn’t enough to spark their offense. Their loss to the Vikings in London drops them to 1-4 in the regular season thus far.

A typically competent Browns defense struggled against Minnesota, but their offense experienced encouraging play from rookies. Quinshon Judkins rushed for 110 yards on Sunday, and even though Cleveland didn’t light up the field with explosive passing plays, Gabriel still threw two touchdowns with no interceptions.

    27) New York Jets

    • Last Week’s Ranking: 24
    • Offense Rank: 19
    • Defense Rank: 29
    • Playoff Odds: 3.40%

It’s not like the cupboard is bare with the New York Jets. They’ve averaged a respectable 23.3 points per game in their last three games, and three of their losses have come in one-score games. But at 0-5, one can’t help but wonder if the Jets will get their act together soon.

New York’s 37-22 loss to the Cowboys is propped up by the 16 garbage-time points the Jets’ offense scored in the fourth quarter. Dallas’ defense has struggled significantly to begin the 2025 NFL season, but it did a very good job of containing the Jets for much of their matchup on Sunday.

    26) New York Giants

    • Last Week’s Ranking: 28
    • Offense Rank: 29
    • Defense Rank: 21
    • Playoff Odds: 3.10%

Their higher-quality win over the Chargers keeps the New York Giants at No. 26 in PFSN’s NFL power rankings, which is higher than the Saints team that beat them on Sunday. That said, don’t mistake their slight rise up the rankings for success coming out of Week 5.

The Giants’ offense could not maintain its momentum from the win the week before, as the passing attack looked lackluster against New Orleans’ defense on Sunday. Going into a showdown with the Eagles in Week 6, it will be tough for them to rebound next week.

    25) Miami Dolphins

    • Last Week’s Ranking: 26
    • Offense Rank: 15
    • Defense Rank: 32
    • Playoff Odds: 11.00%

The good thing to take away from the Miami Dolphins’ loss to the Panthers on Sunday is that they at least kept the game competitive. Their passing attack looked strong, as Tua Tagovailoa threw for 256 yards with three touchdowns and no interceptions, even without Tyreek Hill on the field.

That said, a lackluster ground game and a porous defense ultimately cost the Dolphins. They gave up a whopping 239 rushing yards to Carolina, and the two touchdown drives Miami allowed in the fourth quarter ultimately did them in.

    24) Carolina Panthers

    • Last Week’s Ranking: 29
    • Offense Rank: 20
    • Defense Rank: 20
    • Playoff Odds: 16.50%

After the blowout loss the Carolina Panthers experienced in Week 4 to the Patriots, their comeback victory over the Dolphins on Sunday couldn’t have come at a better time. A 2-3 record isn’t the prettiest situation in the NFL, but it’s significantly easier to be optimistic with that over a 1-4 record.

Rico Dowdle deserves much credit for Carolina’s offensive explosion in Week 5. He ran the ball 23 times for 206 yards and a touchdown, replacing the injured Chuba Hubbard perfectly in their lineup.

    23) Chicago Bears

    • Last Week’s Ranking: 23
    • Offense Rank: 23
    • Defense Rank: 28
    • Playoff Odds: 18.30%

The Chicago Bears were on their bye week in Week 5, sitting at 2-2 coming out of their break. They’ve won two games in a row and will look to keep their streak alive with a win against the Commanders next Monday night.

    22) Baltimore Ravens

    • Last Week’s Ranking: 14
    • Offense Rank: 16
    • Defense Rank: 31
    • Playoff Odds: 21.50%

Playing without Lamar Jackson was expected to hurt the Baltimore Ravens, but few could have anticipated they’d be blown out by 34 points by the Texans on Sunday. Now, the Ravens have a 1-4 record this season.

In addition to Jackson, injuries to key contributors on both sides of the ball have plagued Baltimore recently. They have the raw talent to pick themselves up once their guys get healthy, but 1-4 is a tough hole to get out of if they are to make the playoffs this season.

    21) Pittsburgh Steelers

    • Last Week’s Ranking: 18
    • Offense Rank: 14
    • Defense Rank: 23
    • Playoff Odds: 71.60%

With their NFL Dublin Game coming in Week 4, the Pittsburgh Steelers had a bye week in Week 5 to recover from the overseas travel and their victory over the Vikings. There’s still a lot of work to be done, but at 3-1, the Steelers are better off than many other NFL teams thus far.

    20) Atlanta Falcons

    • Last Week’s Ranking: 21
    • Offense Rank: 17
    • Defense Rank: 14
    • Playoff Odds: 13.50%

The Atlanta Falcons didn’t play in Week 5, taking their bye week with a 2-2 record. They’ve experienced plenty of inconsistency on both sides of the ball, but the hope is that the bye week will help them stabilize.

    19) New England Patriots

    • Last Week’s Ranking: 20
    • Offense Rank: 8
    • Defense Rank: 22
    • Playoff Odds: 46.90%

The Patriots went into Orchard Park, New York, and shocked the NFL by knocking off the only remaining undefeated team, the Bills. Patriots HC Mike Vrabel put together a master defensive game plan to contain the Bills’ offense, especially their rushing attack. In fact, the Patriots’ defense held RB James Cook to just 49 yards, and Josh Allen was the leading rusher with 53 yards.

Drake Maye took the next step on the National stage, throwing for 273 yards. But the spotlight was also on Stefon Diggs, who returned to Buffalo with 10 receptions for 146 yards.

The Patriots might be building something special here.

    18) Dallas Cowboys

    • Last Week’s Ranking: 22
    • Offense Rank: 3
    • Defense Rank: 30
    • Playoff Odds: 17.50%

Their tie with the Packers last week provided reason for optimism, and the Dallas Cowboys built off that with a convincing win over the Jets on Sunday. They now sit at 2-2-1, keeping both their tie and one of the regular-season losses competitive against perennial NFL powerhouses in Green Bay and Philadelphia.

Even with an offensive line battered by injuries, the Cowboys’ offense had its way with New York’s defense in Week 5. Dak Prescott threw four touchdowns with no interceptions on Sunday, and Javonte Williams ran for 135 yards and a touchdown on 16 carries.

    17) Arizona Cardinals

    • Last Week’s Ranking: 17
    • Offense Rank: 27
    • Defense Rank: 16
    • Playoff Odds: 17.30%

Despite holding a 21-3 lead at one point in the game, the Arizona Cardinals fell apart to give the Titans their first win of the 2025 NFL season in a 22-21 matchup that came down to the last possible second.

From giving up a fumble for a touchdown right after securing an interception to dropping the ball right before the goal line on a would-be touchdown, it was a comedy of errors for the Cardinals. Now sitting at 2-3, their loss on Sunday in such a disappointing fashion feels like a missed opportunity in a season they’re supposed to compete for a playoff spot.

    16) Houston Texans

    • Last Week’s Ranking: 19
    • Offense Rank: 18
    • Defense Rank: 4
    • Playoff Odds: 44.00%

The Houston Texans suffered three close losses in a row to kick off their 2025 NFL season, raising doubts about whether they would remain at the top of the AFC South this year. After two convincing wins in a row, though, those playoff hopes are back and still going strong.

Houston has outscored its opponents 70-10 over the last two weeks. C.J. Stroud threw for four touchdowns on Sunday in the win over Baltimore, and the Texans’ defense intercepted Cooper Rush three times. It was an absolute pummeling that should give them some added momentum in future weeks.

    15) Los Angeles Chargers

    • Last Week’s Ranking: 13
    • Offense Rank: 24
    • Defense Rank: 3
    • Playoff Odds: 60.70%

A lot didn’t go right in the Los Angeles Chargers’ loss to the Commanders on Sunday. Obviously, scoring only ten points the entire game isn’t typically a recipe for success.

A Chargers offensive line affected by injuries gave up five sacks in Week 5, and their pass rush conversely wasn’t able to put Jayden Daniels under much pressure in their showdown. The Chargers are a talented team that still sits at 3-2 this year, but suffering two disappointing losses in a row is worrisome this early in the season.

    14) San Francisco 49ers

    • Last Week’s Ranking: 16
    • Offense Rank: 11
    • Defense Rank: 19
    • Playoff Odds: 75.90%

In spite of having a mile-long injury list, the San Francisco 49ers overcame the Rams in an overtime showdown on Thursday night to improve their record to 4-1 for the 2025 NFL season.

Despite their impressive record, their point differential is just +8 through five games. All of their wins have come by five points or fewer. In the NFL, though, you’ll take wins wherever you can get them. Stacking more convincing wins should help them rise the power rankings in future weeks.

    13) Minnesota Vikings

    • Last Week’s Ranking: 15
    • Offense Rank: 21
    • Defense Rank: 2
    • Playoff Odds: 41.00%

A win is a win in the NFL, and the Minnesota Vikings got an ugly one against the Browns in London on Sunday. It took a late-game touchdown drive led by Carson Wentz to get them there, and they escaped from Week 5 with a 3-2 record.

Stacking up wins outside of the division in a competitive division like the NFC North is critical to boost the Vikings’ playoff odds. Considering they’re currently trotting out a backup quarterback, winning games is all you can ask for at this stage of the season.

    12) Kansas City Chiefs

    • Last Week’s Ranking: 4
    • Offense Rank: 13
    • Defense Rank: 7
    • Playoff Odds: 64.40%

Coming in at No. 12, the Kansas City Chiefs are the highest-ranked team below a .500 record in these power rankings coming out of Week 5. They kept things close against the Jaguars on Monday night, but at the end of the day, a loss is still a loss.

In the Chiefs’ defense, all three of their losses have come against top teams, and all of them have come from one-possession deficits. But in order to return to the top five of these rankings, they’re going to have to start turning those competitive games against playoff contenders into wins.

    11) Jacksonville Jaguars

    • Last Week’s Ranking: 12
    • Offense Rank: 12
    • Defense Rank: 5
    • Playoff Odds: 70.10%

The Jacksonville Jaguars upset the Chiefs on Monday night, improving their record to 4-1 and proving in a primetime setting that they are a force to be reckoned with in the AFC. With that win, they have already tied their season-long win total from 2024, and they managed to do so in Week 5.

For what feels like the first time this season, Jacksonville was able to find a way to utilize both Brian Thomas Jr. and Travis Hunter as key pieces of their offense. If they can continue to gel on that side of the ball to complement their strong defense, watch out.

    10) Seattle Seahawks

    • Last Week’s Ranking: 7
    • Offense Rank: 7
    • Defense Rank: 6
    • Playoff Odds: 47.70%

The Seattle Seahawks suffered a last-second heartbreaking loss to the Buccaneers on Sunday, bringing them to 3-2 in the 2025 NFL season. It was a valiant effort that saw both teams’ offenses deliver knockout blow after knockout blow. In the end, though, Tampa Bay came out on top.

Seattle’s defense will need to come up with answers after giving up 38 points to the Buccaneers. Luckily for them, most teams that remain on their schedule don’t have offenses as explosive as Tampa Bay.

    9) Los Angeles Rams

    • Last Week’s Ranking: 5
    • Offense Rank: 5
    • Defense Rank: 10
    • Playoff Odds: 54.50%

A loss to the 49ers on Thursday sends the Los Angeles Rams out of the top five of PFSN’s power rankings. But they’re still rated pretty highly, considering the difficulty of their schedule and how well they’ve performed against top-level competition.

The Rams are the highest two-loss team slated in these rankings. Obviously, they’ll need to keep stacking wins to compete in a loaded NFC West. To start the year, they’ve shown they can stick with any team in the NFL. It’s just a matter of proving they can win those games.

    8) Tampa Bay Buccaneers

    • Last Week’s Ranking: 10
    • Offense Rank: 25
    • Defense Rank: 12
    • Playoff Odds: 83.00%

It took a tightly-contested shootout to do so, but the Tampa Bay Buccaneers came away with the 38-35 victory over the Seahawks on Sunday to bring their record to 4-1 in the 2025 NFL season

Despite several key injuries on both sides of the ball, the Buccaneers pulled away and picked up the win on the road against a talented Seahawks squad. Baker Mayfield threw for 379 passing yards and two touchdowns, elevating his team to a key victory in Seattle.

    7) Philadelphia Eagles

    • Last Week’s Ranking: 3
    • Offense Rank: 22
    • Defense Rank: 15
    • Playoff Odds: 79.50%

Undefeated no more, the Philadelphia Eagles still sit near the top of the NFL with a 4-1 record going into Week 6. But given the 14-point lead they held over the Broncos before eventually losing the game, this loss stings just slightly more.

The Broncos are a very good team, and they deserve a lot of credit for how they fought on Sunday. Still, the Eagles failed to establish the run, and the defense fell apart with a big deal entering the fourth quarter. They’re obviously still a powerhouse, but they showed in Week 5 that they can be their own worst enemy at times.

    6) Denver Broncos

    • Last Week’s Ranking: 9
    • Offense Rank: 10
    • Defense Rank: 1
    • Playoff Odds: 72.90%

Thanks to 18 unanswered points in the fourth quarter, the Denver Broncos shocked the world on Sunday to upset the Eagles in Philadelphia, giving the defending Super Bowl champions their first loss of the season.

Denver’s defense deserves a lot of credit for disrupting the Eagles’ offense this week. The Broncos finished the game with six sacks as a team, 2.5 of them coming from Nik Bonitto. Their defense also deflected nine passes, giving the offense plenty of opportunities to build momentum and come back late in the game.

    5) Washington Commanders

    • Last Week’s Ranking: 11
    • Offense Rank: 6
    • Defense Rank: 17
    • Playoff Odds: 61.00%

Jayden Daniels returned to the field on Sunday, giving the Washington Commanders a spark in his first game back from injury. His presence helped catapult his team into the win column, as they marched into Los Angeles to defeat the Chargers 27-10 handily.

At the start of the year, when the Commanders have been inconsistent, picking up a key win on the road against a team that made the playoffs last year is a big deal.

    4) Green Bay Packers

    • Last Week’s Ranking: 6
    • Offense Rank: 9
    • Defense Rank: 8
    • Playoff Odds: 65.90%

The Green Bay Packers had their bye week in Week 5, sitting with a respectable 2-1-1 record through the first five weeks of the year. Coming off a 40-40 tie last week against the Cowboys, they’ll look to get back in the win column against the Bengals next week.

    3) Indianapolis Colts

    • Last Week’s Ranking: 8
    • Offense Rank: 2
    • Defense Rank: 18
    • Playoff Odds: 92.00%

Sitting pretty with a 4-1 record, the Indianapolis Colts continue to climb up PFSN’s NFL power rankings with their incredible start to the year. Their 40-6 win on Sunday over the Raiders was a dominant showing on both sides of the ball.

Daniel Jones distributed the ball well, Jonathan Taylor ran for three touchdowns against the Raiders, and the Colts’ defense had four sacks and two interceptions. It’s been a difficult task for anyone to stop Indianapolis so far this season.

    2) Buffalo Bills

    • Last Week’s Ranking: 1
    • Offense Rank: 1
    • Defense Rank: 13
    • Playoff Odds: 97.70%

If any Bills fans are overreacting to this loss, they shouldn’t. This is just a speed bump in an AFC that is theirs for the taking, especially considering the struggles the Ravens, Bengals, and Chiefs are facing.

As we enter Week 6, the Bills’ biggest threat — based on record — are the Colts who sit at 4-1. Their usual rivals are struggling to find their way.

The Bills will be fine, and they’ll look to get back in the win column on Monday Night Football against the Atlanta Falcons next week.

    1) Detroit Lions

    • Last Week’s Ranking: 2
    • Offense Rank: 4
    • Defense Rank: 9
    • Playoff Odds: 81.40%

The Detroit Lions picked up their fourth win in a row on Sunday, coming into Cincinnati and toppling the Bengals with a well-rounded performance on both sides of the ball. Their defense forced three interceptions and played well outside garbage time, while David Montgomery contributed with a passing and rushing touchdown

With their high-powered offense and competitive defense, the Lions have bounced back incredibly well from their Week 1 loss to the Packers. They look like one of the best teams in the NFL right now, and the No. 1 spot in PFSN’s Power Rankings is well-deserved.
