A.J. Brown trade talks have been at the forefront of offseason conversation for weeks now after tempers flared during a difficult season for both the Philadelphia Eagles and Brown individually. The Super Bowl runner-up New England Patriots have long been rumored to acquire the star receiver, but now a new team is emerging as a trade target.
Denver Broncos Linked to Potential A.J. Brown Trade
Speaking today on the DNVR Podcast, NFL analyst and commentator Brian Baldinger said of the Denver Broncos, “I know that there’s interest there on both sides. Maybe Tepid, but some interest. At least enough to inquire to what the asking price is.”
When looking deeper into a possible partnership between Brown and the Broncos, it makes a lot of sense. While the Broncos had the best defense in the league according to PFSN’s Defense Impact Rankings, the offense was at least a couple of steps behind.
Brian Baldinger told us there is at least some interest in the Broncos and Eagles on an A.J. Brown trade:

While Sean Payton has been known as one of the league’s best playcallers, and even with quarterback Bo Nix, a rising talent in the league, the offense lacked explosive playmakers throughout 2025. Rookie running back R.J. Harvey began to play better down the stretch, but it wasn’t enough to carry the offense.
When looking at the receiver depth in Denver, it’s solid but nowhere near Super Bowl-caliber. Courtland Sutton is a low-end WR1 who isn’t getting any younger, though he’ll remain a good redzone threat for years to come.
They have intriguing young options who certainly flashed potential at times, starting with Troy Franklin, Marvin Mims Jr., and 2025 third-round pick Pat Bryant; however, none of them seem to have a higher ceiling outside of being a decent WR2.
The need is clear for Denver; it’s just a matter of whether they’re willing to meet Philadelphia’s rumored high bar of compensation.
For the Eagles, it’s clear they’re trying to get as much value as possible for Brown, even if they’re starting from an unrealistic point of value. Despite having a down year, Brown is still one of the top playmakers in the game, as showcased in five 100-yard receiving games while clearly not being on the same page as Jalen Hurts for most of the past season.
It’s still easily possible for him to return to his 2022 and 2023 form, when he racked up 2,952 yards and 18 receiving touchdowns. If he gets dealt to either New England or Denver, don’t be surprised if he emerges with similar production in a better-fitting offense.
