The NFL season is finally back. It’s September 4, 2025, and the Eagles are set to start their road to repeat as champions against their division rival, the Cowboys. But there have been some changes to the ownership of the NFL. In an ad, the NFL announced Jimmy “MrBeast” Donaldson as the newest owner of the NFL. MrBeast made quick changes to the NFL, adding one roster spot to each team for a YouTuber.
But fans don’t have to worry. MrBeast doesn’t actually own the NFL, and there will be no YouTubers on their favorite squads.
NFL’s Ad with MrBeast
MrBeast collaborated with the NFL in an advertisement to stir up interest in the NFL’s Friday game between the Kansas City Chiefs and the Los Angeles Chargers. This game will be the first to be streamed on YouTube, which is a huge deal. While the game is exclusively on YouTube for most fans, specific local channels will be carrying the game.
Well, there’s no better way to advertise for YouTube than using the YouTube king himself, MrBeast. He is the most subscribed content creator on the platform, with 431 million subscribers. MrBeast played a big role in the advertisement, but plenty of other YouTubers also played a part. Some of the most notable YouTubers included Dude Perfect, Sketch, iShowSpeed, and Marlon.
Some YouTubers shared the screen with some of the NFL’s biggest stars. Speed faced off against Dolphins star WR Tyreek Hill, and Marlon chopped it up with Chargers star Derwin James Jr. The NFL leaned into the YouTube sphere, getting some of its best content creators to promote the game, and it’s a monumental game.
The Chiefs and Chargers are division rivals squaring off in Brazil, only the second time in NFL history. This is the first NFL game exclusively on YouTube, and the Chiefs and Chargers won’t care where it’s being streamed, as their main goal is to come out of Sao Paolo with a victory.
The Chiefs are looking to start hot after their disappointing loss in last year’s Super Bowl. The Chargers have their sights set on building upon last season’s playoff berth and sending a message to their division. The Chiefs have run the division, winning it the last nine times, but a Chargers Week 1 victory could mean it’s time for a change.
As MrBeast announced, fans can find this clash on YouTube on Friday. Patrick Mahomes, Travis Kelce, Justin Herbert, and Chris Jones will display plenty of star power. It will be a game for the history books, and MrBeast played his part in the NFL’s newest endeavor.
