Men’s CBB Stars Being Added to NBA 2K26

After the resounding success of college football being reintroduced to video games, the idea of relaunching a college basketball game was explored by EA Sports.

This fell short, and certain schools decided to pair up with 2K Sports to get their players in a video game. Now, players are being added to the main attraction that 2K Sports has to offer — the latest edition of the NBA 2K franchise.

There are 16 different schools being added to NBA 2K26, with some boasting multiple representatives in the game. Blue blood schools Duke, UNC, Kansas, and UConn will all have players in the game.

Cameron Boozer and Darryn Peterson are the headliners set to be added. Boozer is one of the National Player of the Year favorites, while Peterson is destined to be one of the first players off the board in the upcoming NBA Draft.

While the talented duo are the most prominent inclusions, here is the full list of the 23 men’s college basketball players being added.

  • Cameron Boozer, Duke
  • Darryn Peterson, Kansas
  • Yaxel Landeborg, Michigan
  • Braden Smith, Purdue
  • Koa Peat, Arizona
  • Tounde Yessoufou, Baylor
  • Isaiah Evans, Duke

The digital likenesses of college basketball players haven’t been in video games since College Hoops 2K8, with the exception of custom rosters made by 2K users.

North Carolina, Duke, and Florida are the three schools with multiple players set to be added. The Tar Heels have five players being added, the Blue Devils have three, and the Gators will have two. These players will be available in the “MyTeam” mode of NBA 2K26. They will each have their own card and be in packs for users to obtain.

This is a first step in a major innovation for 2K Sports. If it proves to be a resounding success, it could lead to more involvement from other schools in the future, and potentially, its own game mode in future versions.
