Who Are the Parents Behind CeeDee Lamb’s Success?

CeeDee Lamb is the son of Cliff Lamb and Leta Ramirez, who instilled in him a powerful work ethic from a young age. His mother’s dedication was especially remarkable.

According to OU Daily, Ramirez drove him 45 miles to football practice five days a week, all while working a 9-to-5 job at the University of Texas Health Science Center. She made this incredible effort to ensure her son could play for the best youth football organization in Houston.

“It was a struggle,” said Ramirez, who has five children. “But when you have the chance to better one of your kids’ lives, you do it.”

That commitment paid off. Lamb’s former Pop Warner football coach, Darrick Reed, spoke glowingly of the receiver’s drive, which was evident even back then. “That’s the thing about Lamb,” said Reed, who calls Lamb one of the best Houston Pop Warner players ever. “It’s always been about work ethic.”

Football runs deep in the family. Lamb’s father, Cliff, played at MidAmerica Nazarene, and his two uncles also played college football at Texas Southern and Air Force Academy. Following in their footsteps, Lamb put up electrifying stats in college with the Oklahoma Sooners. Over three seasons, he caught 173 passes for 3,292 yards and 32 touchdowns.

What Will the Cowboys’ Offense Look Like Under Brian Schottenheimer?

With the family backstory providing the foundation, the focus now shifts to Lincoln Financial Field in Philadelphia for the season opener. Although the Cowboys enter the game as underdogs, that label is unlikely to bother them. The real intrigue surrounds the debut of the team’s new offensive scheme under new head coach Brian Schottenheimer.

Schottenheimer, a football lifer and the son of legendary head coach Marty Schottenheimer, now has a chance to make his own name coaching one of the most popular teams in the NFL.

With quarterback Dak Prescott healthy and back under center, the offense is poised for a big year. The combination of Lamb and the newly acquired George Pickens is expected to create serious problems for opposing secondaries.

Look for the Cowboys to feature one of the top passing attacks in football, led by their star receiver. No. 88 is expected to put up monster numbers this season, and it all starts Thursday night.
