The fallout from Maxx Crosby’s near-trade to the Baltimore Ravens did not stop with the front offices. It carried over to fans. And Crosby found the reaction more funny than anything else.
Maxx Crosby Laughs Off Ravens Fans’ Reaction to Trade Drama
The laughs happened on “The Rush” podcast. Crosby addressed the messages he received from Ravens fans after the deal fell apart.
“I’m honest to a fault, I can’t even help myself,” Crosby said. “Seeing stuff like that, it had me dying laughing. Now the Ravens fans are like, ‘F you.’ They’re sending me messages, ‘I hope you f’ing end your career.’ I’m like, ‘Damn.’”
The response came after Crosby talked about his travel experience while visiting Baltimore during the trade process. He explained that after flying into Washington, D.C., he had to drive roughly two hours to reach the team facility, something he mentioned casually.
Ravens fans ran with the idea that Crosby was lying and turned it into a bigger issue. Crosby said some fans accused him of exaggerating or lying about the drive, which only added to the reaction he was seeing online.
“I’m like, bro, why would I lie about that?” Crosby said. “I don’t know if I hit traffic. That was just the drive time. It’s not that serious.”
Failed Ravens Trade Still Shapes the Conversation Around Crosby
The fan reaction ties back to a deal that nearly sent Crosby to Baltimore before it collapsed. The Ravens had agreed to terms before concerns during the physical led them to back out, ending what would have been one of the biggest trades of the offseason.
Since then, Crosby has made his position clear. He was the second-ranked defensive end in PFSN’s EDGE Impact Metric this season and intends to deliver another elite season to the Raiders.
According to NFL insider Tom Pelissero, he has told people across the Raiders organization that he wants to stay in Las Vegas. That includes owner Mark Davis and multiple members of the coaching staff. Other teams have checked on his availability, but Crosby is not pushing to leave.
Ravens fans’ reactions never really lined up with reality. Crosby was in Baltimore for a few days as part of a deal that fell apart, then went right back to the Raiders.
A quick comment about a long travel day somehow turned into fans calling him a liar and sending messages that crossed a line. That gap between what was said and how it was received is what Crosby found funny.
