Defensive end Maxx Crosby grabbed the headlines early during the offseason when his trade from the Las Vegas Raiders to the Baltimore Ravens fell through after he failed his physicals in Maryland. Crosby returned to the Raiders and despite his failed move, is still considered one of the best defensive ends in the league.
Maxx Crosby Levels Warning to NFL QBs
While speaking about his technique as a defensive end during the weekend, Crosby had a chilling message for the quarterbacks in the league. His message had a caveat for Baltimore Ravens quarterback Lamar Jackson
“I want to take a really good pursuit angle, and, for me, that delusion in my head, I’m like: ‘They’re a quarterback – besides Lamar Jackson – I’m running their (expletive) down no matter what’. So I just wanna close as much ground as possible,” Crosby said.
Crosby holds the edge in head to head games against Jackson’s Ravens, winning two games against them. Once in 2021 and the other time in 2024.
The former Eastern Michigan Eagles defensive end was selected No. 106 during the 2019 NFL Draft and has since established himself as one of the best players in his position in the league. In his seven-year NFL career, Crosby has had two second-team All-Pro nods and five Pro Bowl selections.

In June, Crosby revealed his mindset after his failed move to the Ravens.
“I don’t really want to talk about that, to be honest. It’s water under the bridge. It’s a long time ago,” Crosby said. “I’m here and I want to be here and I’m excited to be here and I’ve got a lot of work to do. It’s water under the bridge.”
“I want to be out there and be part of the team. I just love what I do and I love playing football and I love being on the field,” he added. “Everyone knows my love and appreciation for this organization. That never will change. (The trade is) part of the business. There are lot of other things that don’t need to be discussed, but ultimately I’m exactly where I want to be.”

Crosby registered 73 total tackles (45 solo), 10 sacks, two forced fumbles, and one interception in 15 games for the Raiders last season, earning a PFN Edge Rusher Impact score of 89.3, good for No. 5 in the league.
After his failed move to the Ravens, he has been linked with a move to the San Francisco 49ers, who are one of the preseason favorites for the Super Bowl next season.
