Update (12:55 p.m. ET): Mike Florio of ProFootballTalk reported that Harrison is not expected to conduct interviews at the 2024 NFL Scouting Combine, potentially making him the first prospect ever to forgo media availabilities at the event.
“League source confirms Harrison is not expected to be available for interviews at the combine,” Florio wrote.
ORIGINAL STORY: On Friday morning, reporters at the 2024 NFL Combine flocked to the media room to hear from Marvin Harrison Jr. The star receiver prospect was scheduled to hold a media session at roughly 8:20 a.m. ET — but he didn’t show up.
So, what happened?
Marvin Harrison Jr. Cancels NFL Combine News Conference
Harrison’s abrupt cancellation came as a surprise to the large group of reporters awaiting his arrival. Receiver prospects held news conferences Friday morning, along with quarterbacks. Harrison, as arguably the best prospect available in the 2024 NFL Draft, was among the players whom reporters were most eager to hear from.

“Ohio State WR Marvin Harrison was scheduled to speak to reporters today around this time,” NBC Sports Boston’s Phil Perry wrote on the X platform.
“It’s just been announced that he’s not here. Seems as though there’s no plan for him to meet with the media imminently. No further updates.”
NFL Media’s Ian Rapoport added: “An NFL spokesperson told reporters that OSU WR Marvin Harrison Jr. won’t talk to the media at his previously scheduled 8:20 a.m. press conference.”

What Are the Possible Explanations for Harrison’s Absence?
At this point, we don’t have any concrete information.
However, it’s worth noting that Harrison, like USC quarterback Caleb Williams, isn’t represented by an agent. He also didn’t plan to participate in any drills at the Combine.
Furthermore, Harrison’s physical measurements surprisingly were released Thursday, two days earlier than expected. Measurements for other receiver prospects are expected to be announced sometime Saturday.

So, it’s possible Harrison flew into Indianapolis, met with interested teams, ran through his physical, and left town. That’s pure speculation, though.
