The Mark Andrews dynasty fantasy football conversation is an interesting one, given his age, the potency of the Baltimore Ravens‘ offense, and the presence of a viable option behind him on the depth chart in Isaiah Likely. He entered the season as a part of the “Big Three” at the position, but his status as an elite option in 2024 (and beyond) is no lock.
Mark Andrews’ Dynasty Outlook
A serious ankle injury cost Andrews seven games in the 2023 regular season, and with his 29th birthday coming in September, there are reasonable concerns that Andrews’ run as a top-notch option is set to end this season.

Are we there yet? Andrews has averaged over 11.5 yards per catch in all six of his seasons and has hauled in at least 4.5 catches per game in each of the past three seasons. In his first season under Todd Monken, Andrews saw his YAC per reception increase by 45.3% from 2022, posting the second-best rate of his career.
The value of creating yardage after the catch was even more valuable when you consider that Andrews caught a career-high 73.8% of his targets (up from a career-low 64.6% rate in 2022). The quick-striking nature of this offense should be viewed as a sustainable boon for Andrews’ value.

With MVP Lamar Jackson thriving in this style of play and Monken unlikely to change the game plan with time, the structure of this offense is one that profiles as an advantageous one for those touching this passing game.
The injury isn’t expected to play a role heading into 2024, and that has me again considering Andrews as a strong TE1 and a top-five option at the position in dynasty formats.

There is no shortage of moving pieces in Baltimore, and we’re dealing with the age curve for Andrews, the growth of Zay Flowers as a target earner, and the potential for the Ravens to bring an alpha receiver.
With all of that said, not to mention the influx of impressive youth at the top of the position, I think we are looking at a decent buying window. The upside may not be that of the three TEs I have ranked ahead of him, but this offense provides a nice floor, and Monken’s usage of Andrews has me bullish in the short term.
Red-zone target rate:
- 2023: 35%
- 2021-22: 25.7%
If the Andrews manager is ready to move onto a younger option at the TE position, I’m all in favor of opening up the trade talks to land one of the best in the game at a tough position to fill.
It’s always a cost analysis decision, but with an injury on the mind of managers, not to mention the emergence of Likely in his absence, the price is as favorable now as it has been since Andrews’ fantasy stock first blew up.
From a strategic standpoint, fading the tight end position is going to be more difficult this year than in years past.
With the young talent at the position and the elder options still projecting nicely, a dynasty roster that is punting the position altogether might not be able to thrive — remember to always adjust your views on roster construction to the ever-changing landscape of the league.
