NFL Trades Today (Tuesday, Nov. 5)
49ers Grab DT Khalil Davis From Texans
The San Francisco 49ers made a buzzer-beater deal for front-seven depth on Tuesday, acquiring DT Khalil Davis from the Houston Texans in exchange for a 2026 seventh-round pick.
San Francisco has needed more help at defensive tackle since losing Javon Hargrave to a season-ending triceps injury in Week 3. Backup 49ers DT Kevin Givens is currently battling a groin issue. San Fran has struggled against the run game, ranking 21st in both EPA per rush and success rate.
Davis, a 2020 sixth-round choice out of Nebraska, has bounced around the league and has played just 637 defensive snaps through five NFL seasons.
Rams Send Veteran CB Tre’Davious White to Ravens
The Baltimore Ravens have acquired veteran cornerback Tre’Davious White from the Los Angeles Rams, adding help to their needy secondary. The Ravens picked up White and a 2027 seventh-round pick in exchange for a 2026 seventh-round pick.
L.A. gave White a one-year deal with a base value of $4.25 million in free agency, but the 29-year-old hasn’t been a factor for the Rams’ defense. After starting the first four games of the season, White has been a healthy scratch since Week 5.
White won’t start in Baltimore, but he’ll add depth to a defensive backfield that ranks 29th in EPA per dropback. White is due roughly $1.25 million over the rest of the season, making him an affordable acquisition for the cap-strapped Ravens.
Steelers Make Another Trade, Add Ex-Packers EDGE Preston Smith
Roughly an hour after completing a trade for wideout Mike Williams, the Pittsburgh Steelers executed another move, acquiring pass rusher Preston Smith from the Green Bay Packers in exchange for a 2025 seventh-round pick.
Smith had been with Green Bay since 2019, posting 8+ sacks in four of six seasons. However, his playing time had begun to slip as the Packers worked in younger EDGEs Lukas Van Ness and Kingsley Enagbare behind Rashan Gary. Smith played only 37% of Green Bay’s defensive snaps in Week 9, his lowest rate as a Packer.
The Steelers have been forced to work around injuries to Alex Highsmith and Nate Herbig but still rank in the middle of the pack in pressure rate. Adding Smith to create a pass-rushing force that also includes former DPOY T.J. Watt could help Pittsburgh escape its one-and-done playoff troubles.
Steelers Land WR Mike Williams From Jets
Mike Williams was on borrowed time with the New York Jets as soon as Gang Green acquired fellow WR Davante Adams in October.
On Tuesday, the Jets officially traded Williams to the Pittsburgh Steelers in exchange for a 2025 fifth-round pick. Pittsburgh had been linked to myriad receivers — including Adams and the San Francisco 49ers’ Brandon Aiyuk — this year but hadn’t added a complement for George Pickens until Tuesday.

Williams, who tore his ACL while playing for the Los Angeles Chargers in 2023, slowly worked his way into the Jets’ starting lineup this year. His defining moment for New York came in Week 6 when his incorrect route led to a game-ending Aaron Rodgers interception.
Williams has two 1,000-yard seasons and a double-digit TD campaign on his résumé. He’s an instant upgrade of Van Jefferson, Calvin Austin III, and the other wideouts the Steelers were deploying opposite Pickens. Williams is a pending free agent; Pittsburgh will owe him roughly $3.4 million over the rest of the season.
Commanders Acquire CB Marshon Lattimore From Saints
The Washington Commanders (7-2) are officially going for it.
On Tuesday, Washington acquired former Pro Bowl cornerback Marshon Lattimore from the New Orleans Saints. The Commanders sent third-, fourth-, and sixth-round picks to the Saints in exchange for Lattimore and a fifth-rounder.
Lattimore missed Week 9 with a hamstring injury, but Washington must be comfortable with his medicals.
The former first-round pick is earning just $1.21 million this season. The Commanders will be responsible for the rest of his salary (about $600,000) in 2024. They’ll also have de facto team options on Lattimore in 2025 ($18 million) and 2026 ($18.5 million). None of Lattimore’s future earnings are guaranteed.
While Washington’s coverage unit has improved in recent weeks, the club still ranks 20th in EPA per dropback on defense. Lattimore will likely replace starting Commanders CB Benjamin St-Juste, who’s allowed the seventh-most yardage among corners in 2024.
Cowboys Trade for Panthers WR Jonathan Mingo
Cowboys owner Jerry Jones teased a receiver trade during a Tuesday morning radio hit, and he wasn’t kidding.
Dallas acquired wideout Jonathan Mingo in a deal with the Carolina Panthers, according to multiple reports. The Cowboys, who also acquired a 2025 seventh-round pick, sent a 2025 fourth-rounder to Carolina.
A second-round pick in the 2023 NFL Draft, Mingo caught 43 balls for 418 yards as a rookie. He racked up 12 catches for 121 yards in nine games this season prior to Tuesday’s trade.
Mingo will provide extra depth to a receiving room that saw CeeDee Lamb suffer a shoulder injury in Week 9.

Bears Trade RB Khalil Herbert to the Bengals
(8:42 AM ET) The Chicago Bears are sending RB Khalil Herbert to the Cincinnati Bengals, according to NFL Network’s Tom Pelissero. In return, the Bears will get a 2025 seventh-round draft pick.
According to the PFN Playoff Predictor, the Bengals have a 15.68% chance of making the playoffs, while the Bears have a 3.42% chance heading into Week 10.
Browns Trade EDGE Za’Darius Smith to the Lions
(8:15 AM ET) According to multiple media reports, the Cleveland Browns are trading EDGE Za’Darius Smith to the Lions, who are in need of pass-rushing help to make up for the loss of Aidan Hutchinson.
NFL Network’s Ian Rapoport reports that Smith and a 2026 7th-round pick are going to Detroit for a 2025 5th-round pick and a 2026 6th-round pick.
According to the PFN Playoff Predictor, the Lions have a 98.83% chance to make the playoffs, even without adding Smith. This is the highest percentage in the NFC and second-highest in the league. The Chiefs have a 99.97% chance to make the playoffs.
Latest Trade Rumors Around the NFL
Panthers Won’t Trade QB Bryce Young
The Carolina Panthers will not trade former No. 1 overall pick Bryce Young before Tuesday’s deadline, per Russini.
Four unknown teams reportedly reached out regarding Young’s availability after Carolina benched the former Heisman winner heading into Week 3. The Panthers had maintained they wouldn’t trade Young, who is now back in the starter’s seat after Andy Dalton injured his thumb in a car accident.
Giants Leaning Toward Keeping Pending Free Agent Pass Rusher?
Rival teams are still inquiring New York Giants EDGE Azeez Ojulari, as Russini reported on Tuesday. Big Blue wants a late fourth-round pick or a high fifth-round choice in exchange for the 24-year-old, and they might not get it.
Mike Garafolo of NFL Network says the Giants will likely retain Ojulari at the deadline.
Ojulari will be a free agent next offseason, but he’s young enough that teams could view him as an extension candidate. With six sacks through nine weeks, Ojulari is on pace to set a career-high in pass-rushing production. His 13.1% pressure rate ranks 23rd among edge defenders with at least 150 pass-rushing snaps.
The Atlanta Falcons and Cincinnati Bengals have been linked to Ojulari this month, while the Arizona Cardinals were reportedly interested before acquiring fellow EDGE Baron Browning on Monday.
Bengals Searching For Defensive Help
The Cincinnati Bengals made a trade for running back Khalil Herbert early on Tuesday morning. Now, they are on the lookout for defensive reinforcements.
Cincinnati is searching for a defensive tackle before today’s trade deadline, reports Dianna Russini of The Athletic. The Bengals ranked 28th in run defense efficiency, while few of their interior defenses are creating regular pressure. Starting DT B.J. Hill suffered a rib injury in Week 9 and isn’t practicing ahead of Week 10.
Russini notes a “number of teams” are also trying to land a defensive tackle before 4 p.m. ET.
Panthers May Hold Onto Veteran WR
The Carolina Panthers haven’t been shy about trading wide receivers this year. However, while they’ve already moved Diontae Johnson and Jonathan Mingo, the Panthers will likely hang onto fellow pass catcher Adam Thielen, per CBS Sports’ Jonathan Jones.
Thielen, 34, hauled in 1,014 receiving yards for the Panthers in 2023, but injuries have limited him to just three games and eight catches this season. He’s decently expensive, with roughly $3 million in guaranteed salary remaining in 2024. Thelen is under contract for $6.75 million next season.
Chiefs Done Making Moves?
The Kansas City Chiefs have already acquired WR DeAndre Hopkins and EDGE Josh Uche this month. Those may end up as GM Brett Veach’s only trades, according to Dianna Russini of The Athletic, who doesn’t expect K.C. to make any more deals before Tuesday’s deadline.
The Chiefs were heavily linked to cornerback Marshon Lattimore, whom the New Orleans Saints ultimately traded to the Washington Commanders for a package of draft picks.
Other corners who could speculatively be available? Kendall Fuller (Miami Dolphins), Jonathan Jones (New England Patriots), Greg Newsome (Cleveland Browns), and Ronald Darby (Jacksonville Jaguars).
Seahawks Won’t Trade WR DK Metcalf
The Seattle Seahawks will not trade wide receiver DK Metcalf before Tuesday’s deadline, per ESPN’s Adam Schefter. NFL Network reported on Sunday that Seattle was not considering a Metcalf trade this week.
The Seahawks did receive calls on Metcalf, according to Jason La Canfora of the Washington Post. The 26-year-old is under contract through 2025 under the terms of the three-year, $72 million extension he inked with Seattle in 2022. Metcalf is due $18 million in base salary next year and will count for $31.8 million on the Seahawks’ salary cap.
Metcalf has missed Seattle’s past two games with a knee injury but is trending toward a Week 10 return. He’s hauled in 35 passes for 568 yards and three touchdowns in seven games.
Chargers Eyeing Patriots WR Ahead of Deadline
The Los Angeles Chargers are among the teams with interest in New England Patriots wide receiver K.J. Osborn, as Mike Giardi of the Boston Sports Journal reports.
Osborn, who signed a one-year deal with New England this spring after four seasons with the Minnesota Vikings, is due roughly $900,000 over the rest of the 2024 campaign. The 27-year-old hasn’t carved out a role with the Patriots and was a healthy scratch in Week 9. Osborn has just seven catches for 57 yards and a touchdown this season.
While the Chargers could use another receiver, it’s unclear if they even need to trade for Osborn. ESPN’s Mike Reiss recently suggested that New England could simply release Osborn if he’s not moved by today’s deadline.
Saints Cornerback On the Move?
The New Orleans Saints have fired head coach Dennis Allen and lost seven straight since a 2-0 start, making them clear sellers. Pro Bowl cornerback Marshon Lattimore missed Sunday’s game with a hamstring injury but could still reportedly be a trade target.
NFL Media’s Ian Rapoport notes that “several teams” have inquired about the Saints corner’s availability. ESPN’s Adam Schefter says there are at least four bidders for Lattimore ahead of today’s deadline.
New Orleans is looking for a Day 2 draft pick in exchange for Lattimore, per Jordan Schultz of FOX Sports. The “belief” around the league is that the Saints should be able to land that sort of package before 4 p.m. ET.

Lattimore is under contract for two more seasons after 2024, which could make him a more valuable trade chip, given his years of team control.
The Kansas City Chiefs are among the teams to have called on Lattimore, per Schefter. The defending Super Bowl champs boast first-team All-Pro CB Trent McDuffie but traded franchise player L’Jarius Sneed during the offseason and placed Jaylen Watson (broken fibula and tibia) on IR after Week 6.
Meanwhile, the Washington Commanders have “emerged as a real contender” for Lattimore, as CBS Sports’ Jonathan Jones reports. While Washington’s coverage unit has improved in recent weeks, the club still ranks 20th in EPA per dropback on defense. Lattimore would likely replace starting Commanders CB Benjamin St-Juste, who’s allowed the seventh-most yardage among corners in 2024.
Schefter also mentioned the Baltimore Ravens and Los Angeles Chargers potential fits for Lattimore, who is earning just $1.21 million this season. Multiple Titans Defenders Drawing Deadline Interest
The Tennessee Titans have received calls on EDGE Arden Key and DT Sebastian Joseph-Day, according to ESPN’s Jeremy Fowler. However, as of Tuesday morning, no serious offers had developed.
Key, 28, has always been a valuable rotational rusher, posting at least 4.5 sacks each season from 2021 to 2023 while playing for three different teams. Key is a little light (240 pounds), so he might not fit every defensive system, but he plays with a tenacity that coaches embrace.
An acquiring team would owe Key a little less than $1 million for the rest of the 2024 campaign. They’d also have him under contract in 2025 via a de facto $7 million option.
Cowboys Looking for Receiver Help
During an appearance on KRLD-FM, Cowboys owner Jerry Jones said Dallas will add a receiver it’s liked since their college days, per The Athletic’s Jon Machota. Jones didn’t provide any further details other than insisting the Cowboys will be buyers.
“We’re not selling,” Jones said. “We will make that case. We’re buying and not selling.”
The claim arrived days after star wideout CeeDee Lamb suffered a shoulder injury that could put his Week 10 status in jeopardy.
UPDATE (9:52 A.M. ET): The Cowboys acquired receiver Jonathan Mingo in a trade with the Carolina Panthers, according to NFL Media’s Tom Pelissero.
Are Patriots Looking to Buy?
The 2-7 Patriots are expected to be active before the deadline. Kyle Dugger, Jonathan Jones, Kendrick Bourne, Tyquan Thornton, K.J. Osborn, and Davon Godchaux are among those who’ve been floated in credible trade rumors.
However, per NFL Media’s Ian Rapoport, New England could look to thread the buying-selling needle.
“Could the Patriots… buy? They could,” Rapoport wrote Sunday. “Similar to what the Bears did last year, New England could use the trade deadline to beef up its young talent base and start free agency early. They’ve already called on several players on the market and despite most assuming they’ll sell [which is possible], they could also buy in the right situation with a player who would be part of the Patriots’ future.”

Colts Unlikely to Trade Anthony Richardson
Although the Indianapolis Colts benched Anthony Richardson in favor of veteran Joe Flacco in Week 9, the club is not expected to trade the 2023 No. 4 overall pick, according to FOX’s Jordan Schultz. However, Indy has received inquiries from rival teams wondering if Richardson is available.
Sources told Schulz that many teams around the league viewed Richardson’s benching after 10 career starts as “premature.”
Flacco struggled in a Monday night loss to the Minnesota Vikings, completing 15 of 27 attempts for 179 yards, no touchdowns, and one interception. The 39-year-old finished 24th in EPA per dropback (-0.21) and 26th in off-target rate (18.5%) in Week 9, while the Colts’ offense was more inefficient (-0.31 EPA per play) than it’d been all season.
Browns Willing to Trade Multiple Veterans?
Amari Cooper may not be the only player the Cleveland Browns move before Tuesday’s trade deadline.
Pro Football Talk’s Mike Florio reported Sunday that the Detroit Lions are expected to acquire Browns pass rusher Za’Darius Smith before the deadline. While Smith’s sack totals have fluctuated over the past few seasons, his pressure rate has mostly remained steady, sticking between 14% and 17% each season since 2022. He’d immediately help the Lions replace Aidan Hutchinson.
PFT also mentioned Browns TE David Njoku as a possible trade deadline candidate. Njoku broke out for a career-best season in 2023, hauling in 81 catches for 882 yards and six touchdowns in an otherwise broken Cleveland offense. His performance made his four-year, $54.75 million extension — which made Njoku just the NFL’s seventh-highest-paid TE — look like even more of a steal.

Browns WR Elijah Moore “could be on the move” after Cleveland lost to the Los Angeles Chargers on Sunday, per Jonathan Jones of CBS Sports. Moore has always offered inside-outside versatility and has spent even more time in the slot (60%) in 2024. The former second-round pick managed 652 receiving yards for Cleveland in 2023 and has received an expanded role after the Browns traded Cooper.
One last Cleveland trade candidate? Cornerback Greg Newsome, whom the Browns have “had some discussions” about, reports Sports Illustrated’s Albert Breer. Newsome, a 2021 first-round pick, is under team control through 2025 for roughly $15 million. While he primarily plays in the slot, the 24-year-old boasts 1,300+ perimeter snaps.
Steelers Looking for a WR
The Pittsburgh Steelers have been connected to most available wide receivers for months. But after missing out on the likes of Brandon Aiyuk and Davante Adams, Pittsburgh is running out of time to find a running mate for George Pickens.
ESPN’s Adam Schefter reported on Sunday that the Steelers “have been making calls and checking on any and all available wide receivers.” Schefter specifically cited Mike Williams and Adam Thielen as potential targets.
What NFL Trades Have Happened?
Below is a recap of the recent trades that have occurred already leading up to the deadline.
Davante Adams to the Jets
The Las Vegas Raiders traded former All-Pro wide receiver Davante Adams to the New York Jets for a conditional third-round pick. The pick can elevate to a second-rounder if Adams becomes an All-Pro this season or if the Jets advance to at least the AFC Championship Game.
The trade reunites Adams with Aaron Rodgers, who connected on 68 touchdowns as Green Bay Packers teammates from 2014-21.
Amari Cooper to the Bills
The Cleveland Browns traded wide receiver Amari Cooper to the Buffalo Bills. The Bills sent a 2025 third-round pick (from the Detroit Lions) and a 2026 seventh-round pick to the Browns for Cooper and a 2026 sixth-round pick.
Cooper fills the void of the Bills’ No. 1 receiver, which was left vacant after the Stefon Diggs trade in the offseason. Buffalo is cruising to another AFC East title, but it needed to raise its offensive ceiling to compete with the Baltimore Ravens and Kansas City Chiefs in the AFC.

DeAndre Hopkins to the Chiefs
The Tennessee Titans traded DeAndre Hopkins to the Chiefs for a 2025 fifth-round pick. The pick can become a fourth-rounder if the Chiefs reach the Super Bowl and Hopkins plays at least 60% of the snaps.

Diontae Johnson to the Ravens
The Carolina Panthers sent wide receiver Diontae Johnson to the Baltimore Ravens. The Ravens received Johnson and a 2025 sixth-round pick in exchange for a 2025 fifth-rounder.
After being traded to Carolina from the Pittsburgh Steelers in the offseason, Johnson was the Panthers’ leading receiver this season. He had 30 catches for 357 yards and three touchdowns in seven games with the team.

Cam Robinson to the Vikings
The Jacksonville Jaguars traded left tackle Cam Robinson to the Minnesota Vikings, who started all 91 games he appeared in during his eight seasons with the Jaguars.
The trade occurred in the wake of Christian Darrisaw’s season-ending torn ACL in the Vikings’ Week 8 loss to the Los Angeles Rams. Darrisaw had signed a lucrative four-year, $104 million extension with Minnesota in the offseason.
Cam Akers to the Vikings
The Houston Texans sent Cam Akers and a 2026 seventh-rounder to the Minnesota Vikings in exchange for a 2026 sixth-round pick.
This is Akers’ second stint with the Vikings, as Minnesota also traded for him in September 2023 from the Rams. Akers had 138 rushing yards and averaged 3.8 yards per carry in six games during his first stint with Minnesota.
At one point this season, Akers was the Texans’ starting running back following injuries to Joe Mixon and Dameon Pierce. However, he averaged just 3.7 ypc, rushing 40 times for 147 yards.
Seahawks and Titans Swap Linebackers
The Seattle Seahawks and Titans traded inside linebackers when the former sent Jerome Baker and a 2025 fourth-round pick to Tennessee for Ernest Jones IV.
Both were acquired this offseason, with Baker signing with the Seahawks in free agency and the Titans acquiring Jones late in the preseason via trade with the Rams.
Jones is the slightly superior player (as evidenced by the trade compensation), and his experience as a blitzer pairs well with Mike Macdonald’s defense. Jones had 4.5 sacks last season with Los Angeles.
Joshua Uche to the Chiefs
The New England Patriots sent edge rusher Joshua Uche to the Chiefs for a 2026 sixth-round pick.
Uche will bolster a Kansas City pass rush that features All-Pro defensive tackle Chris Jones. Uche had two sacks in seven games this season with New England.
A former second-round pick out of Michigan, Uche’s best season was in 2022, when he recorded 11.5 sacks. He re-signed with New England on a one-year, $3 million deal in the offseason and will be a free agent again in 2025.
Roy Robertson-Harris to the Seahawks
The Jaguars sent defensive tackle Roy Robertson-Harris to the Seahawks in exchange for a 2026 sixth-round pick.
Seattle suffered numerous injuries along its defensive line earlier this season, with Byron Murphy and Leonard Williams among those to miss time. Robertson-Harris has started 62 games over his eight-season career with the Chicago Bears, Jaguars, and Seahawks. He had a career-high 3.5 sacks last season with Jacksonville.
Baron Browning to the Cardinals
The Arizona Cardinals acquired EDGE Baron Browning on Nov. 4, sending a 2025 sixth-round pick to the Denver Broncos in exchange for the 25-year-old pass rusher.
Browning has never played over 600 snaps in a season, but he’s always flashed for the Broncos when not battling injury concerns. In 2023, Browning managed 35 pressures on just 246 pass-rushing snaps, ranking 25th in PFF‘s pass-rushing productivity metric.
Browning is probably already Arizona’s best pure pass rusher. He’ll cost the Cardinals roughly $1.5 million for the rest of the season. If Arizona likes how the pending free agent plays to close the 2024 campaign, an extension could be on the table.
