What Does the Lions’ WR Depth Chart Look Like?

St. Brown was forced to leave the field and head to the Lions’ locker room with an ankle injury. His status for the rest of Thursday’s game is questionable.

LaPorta is out with a back injury, too, and probably will not return this season. Along with St. Brown, LaPorta had been a receiving option for Lions quarterback Jared Goff this season.

What other receiving options does Lions head coach Dan Campbell have available? According to the Lions’ depth chart, options include second-string receivers Isaac TeSlaa, Dominic Lovett, and Tom Kennedy. Look for Jameson Williams to get more attention from Goff as well.

At tight end, Brock Wright is not available on Thursday. Other tight end options include Ross Dwelley, Anthony Firkser, and Zach Horton, according to the Detroit depth chart available on Thursday.

The Lions entered their traditional Thanksgiving Day game at Ford Field with a 7-4 record against the 7-3-1 Packers. Missing key players like St. Brown and LaPorta doesn’t bode well for a Detroit victory, but Campbell knows how to keep his team focused and moving forward.

According to the PFSN NFL WR Impact metrics, St. Brown has an impact score of 87.9 and grades out to a B+. As for Williams, he has an impact score of 76.3 and grades out to a C. For the season, St. Brown has 75 catches for 884 yards and nine touchdowns. Williams has 31 catches for 562 and five touchdowns for Detroit.

Then, according to the PFSN NFL TE Impact metrics, LaPorta, before getting injured, had an 87.3 impact score and graded out to a B+. What about Wright? He has an impact score of 68.5 and grades out to a D+. Wright has 14 catches for 108 yards and two touchdowns.

How much of an impact did LaPorta have on the Lions’ offense? He had 40 catches for 489 yards and three touchdown catches.

As Thursday’s game rolls along, it will be interesting to see how Goff maneuvers his offense downfield without those key players available to him.
