Breece Hall Landing Spots: 4 NFL Teams to Watch After Jets RB’s Surprise Trade Demand

The New York Jets stunned the NFL when they traded Sauce Gardner to the Indianapolis Colts and Quinnen Williams to the Dallas Cowboys on Tuesday afternoon, and now all eyes are on the Jets to see if they will sell other pieces. Breece Hall’s name has surfaced quite a bit in the rumor mill as of late and, according to NFL insider Jordan Schultz, the explosive running back wants to be traded after today’s shocking deals.

With Hall making it known that he wants to be traded, here are four teams that make sense as a trade destination if the Jets opt to part ways with the explosive running back.

    Chicago Bears

The Chicago Bears are another team in transition, having hired Ben Johnson, the other half of Dan Campbell’s Detroit coordinator duo, as their head coach. Johnson has made several big moves on both sides of the ball, most notably in the trenches, and gained several new offensive weapons in the draft.

However, the team’s lead running back is D’Andre Swift, who spent a year under Johnson in Detroit before being moved on. Swift has been competent as a versatile three-down back this season, but has fallen well short of Johnson’s high standards from his time with the Lions.

While Swift and rookie Kyle Monangai have shown flashes, Hall is an excellent fit for Johnson’s explosive offense if they want to make a win-now move.

    Green Bay Packers

Another team that has surprisingly struggled on the ground is Chicago’s NFC North rivals, the Green Bay Packers.

Star running back Josh Jacobs’ value is in his consistency, rather than his explosiveness. Jacobs’ longest rush this season is currently 19 yards, which is behind even his own quarterback, Jordan Love.

While Jacobs remains a key component of Matt LaFleur’s offense, Green Bay can lack explosive plays if it’s not a deep shot from Love. Jacobs would still be the lead back, but pairing him with Hall would add a home-run threat to the Packers’ ground game, with the team eyeing a Super Bowl in the short term.

    Los Angeles Chargers

The Los Angeles Chargers can’t be ruled out as a possible landing spot for Hall, especially after the injury to rookie running back Omarion Hampton.

Los Angeles would love to restore a two-back rotation in the backfield, as Hampton was always supposed to share work with veteran Najee Harris. Harris is now out for the season with a torn Achilles, and Hampton is sidelined too.

Chargers offensive coordinator Greg Roman previously stated that the rookie would continue to share work even after Harris went down. If they are on the lookout for a new running mate for their first-round pick, Hall would make a lot of sense. Hampton and Hall could form the league’s one-two punch in the backfield.

    Kansas City Chiefs

Despite struggling on the ground throughout the 2024 season, the Kansas City Chiefs made their third-straight Super Bowl appearance in February. Only two teams averaged fewer yards per rush attempt than Kansas City (4.0) last year, after star running back Isiah Pacheco fractured his fibula in Week 2.

Now, Pacheco is hurt once again and the team can’t rely on Kareem Hunt and seventh-round rookie Brashard Smith to dominate the backfield touches. The Chiefs will need to address the position sooner or later. The team’s passing offense is clicking, so adding an explosive running back could put them over the edge.
