After exiting the Baltimore Ravens’ Week 16 matchup against the New England Patriots with a back injury, quarterback Lamar Jackson failed to practice all week, keeping him out of the Ravens’ do-or-die game against the Green Bay Packers in Week 17.
With Jackson out and Tyler Huntley taking over for at least this week, Baltimore’s QB1 has now missed four games this season, but how many has he missed during his eight-year career?
How Many Games Has Lamar Jackson Missed in his Career?
Jackson has become a cornerstone for the Ravens franchise since being drafted in the first round of the 2018 NFL Draft. Between two NFL MVPs and three First-team All-Pro nods, he’s pushed this team and offense to new levels.
While he’s able to find success through the air and on the ground, the added wear and tear has resulted in some missed time for Jackson throughout his career, including tonight’s game.
While he’s missing the Week 17 Saturday night showdown due to a back contusion this week, he missed three games earlier in the season after suffering an unspecified grade one hamstring injury against the Kansas City Chiefs in Week 4.

During the 2022 season, Jackson would miss the final six games, including Baltimore’s Wild Card matchup against the Cincinnati Bengals, due to a grade two PCL sprain in his knee. Huntley stepped in for him during that stretch, going 3-3.
He was also out for another four-game stretch in 2021 after suffering a grade two ankle sprain during Baltimore’s Week 14 loss to the Cleveland Browns, ending his season. He would also miss Baltimore’s Week 11 matchup against the Chicago Bears due to an illness.
Jackson did miss a game in 2020, but not due to injury; he was one of the many players that season who were forced to sit out due to testing positive for COVID-19 in Week 12. In total, he’s missed 16 games throughout his career.
Missed games or not, the Ravens offense has not been great in 2025. After having the second-best unit in the NFL according to PFSN’s Offense Impact metric, with an impact score of 90.2 in 2024, they’ve seen their score plummet this season, to 70.2, ranking them 24th in 2025.
Jackson hasn’t been nearly as effective this season either, coming in as the 17th-ranked signal-caller in PFSN’s QB Impact metric with an impact score of 76.7. Heading into Week 17, he’s completed 181 of 284 passes for 2,311 yards, 18 touchdowns, and six interceptions. He’s also tacked on 63 carries for 340 yards and two touchdowns.
