Will Keon Coleman Play Against the Houston Texans?

Coleman became a hot topic of debate in Week 11 when he was benched against the Tampa Bay Buccaneers on SNF, Nov. 16, for being late to a meeting with the team’s head coach, Sean McDermott.

Following the 44-32 win over the Buccaneers on Sunday, McDermott admitted that he decided to bench the WR. The goal was to teach the young receiver a valuable lesson and help him grow as a player.

“That was my decision,” McDermott said. “It is disappointing, but I still believe in the young man… I try and give the guys a kind of a strike approach, ‘Hey, you get a chance to show your teammates that’s not really who you are.’ When it happens again, then I step in. I believe he will learn from it. He takes it seriously. He will move forward in a way of growing from this, and that’s the whole goal.”

However, despite this strict decision, Coleman harbored no grudges against the coach and took responsibility for his mistakes.

“Doing what I’m supposed to do, doing the right things, being where I’m supposed to be … You can’t make those types of mistakes,” Coleman said. “You’re a professional.”

His fans were a bit upset with the decision the head coach made last week and were waiting to see the WR return to the field next week. However, as the Bills are going to enter the field against the Texans, it seems the fans’ wait will stretch longer. According to Cover 1, the team will likely bench him again.

Coleman had a great start to this season, but his performance got weaker over the weeks, with only 32 catches for 330 yards and three touchdowns so far. He is currently ranked number 55 in PFSN’s WR Impact.

The Bills, despite being second in the AFC East, have had a decent season, winning seven out of the 10 games they’ve played this year. Their offense has been dominating, currently ranking second in PFSN’s Offense Impact. It would be interesting to see if they could bring yet another win as they meet the Texans tonight, another team that has been performing impressively.
