NFL Analyst Projects Chiefs as No. 1 Seed

The Chiefs are looking pretty promising after winning another Super Bowl and a strong draft. That’s why Pro Football Network’s Dallas Robinson believes that the team is set to secure the No. 1 seed in the AFC this upcoming season.

“Fresh off their third Super Bowl in four years, Patrick Mahomes and the Kansas City Chiefs brought back DT Chris Jones and added WR Hollywood Brown in free agency, then nailed the draft by adding WR Xavier Worthy and OT Kingsley Suamataia in the first two rounds,” Robinson wrote.

“Kansas City has won at least 11 games in every season with Mahomes under center. With the Los Angeles Chargers, Denver Broncos, and Las Vegas Raiders semi-resetting, the Chiefs should coast to a ninth consecutive AFC West title.”

Kansas City, Kansas Looks To Attract Chiefs and Royals

KMBC 9’s Brian Johnson is reporting that Kansas City, Kansas, legislators are looking to create a professional sports district in the city. This would be called the “STAR Bond District.” The plan is for revenue generated in the future to fund 100% of the project for both the Royals and Chiefs stadium projects.

“We’re in a position to do a scoop and score,” Kansas House Rep. Sean Tarwater said. “No Kansan will be asked to pay any more taxes. We’re using tomorrow’s money and the revenue produced that will be approved over a 30-year period.”

Chiefs Eyed LT Amarius Mims

The Cincinnati Bengals swooped in and took Amarius Mims with the No. 18 selection in the draft. According to Nate Taylor of The Athletic, Kansas City looked to pick Mims if he was available via the team trading up.

“Midway through the first round, (Brett) Veach and (Mike) Borgonzi began calling teams to find a trade partner that would allow them to move up more than 10 spots,” Taylor wrote. “The first prospect the Chiefs targeted was Amarius Mims, the tackle from Georgia. Although Mims played right tackle in college, many teams believed he had the talent to be a starting left tackle. The Cincinnati Bengals selected Mims with the 18th pick.”

The Chiefs ended up selecting Texas wide receiver Xavier Worthy with the No. 28 pick and eventually drafted a tackle, BYU’s Kingsley Suamataia, with the No. 63 pick.
