After falling to the Dallas Cowboys, 31-28, in front of a record-breaking crowd on Thanksgiving, the Kansas City Chiefs sit at 6-6. They haven’t been in this position in quite some time, and it’s going to be an uphill battle for them to make the playoffs.
Emmanuel Acho Issues Strong Assessment On The State Of The Kansas City Chiefs
That starts on December 7 against the Houston Texans, and one former NFL linebacker will be watching closely as part of Sunday Night Football.
“Chiefs’ season is over,” Acho said. “By Sunday at 10 pm, the Chiefs’ season is going to be over. It’s a wrap. Houston Texans might be the hottest team in the AFC, if not one of the hottest teams in the league.”
.@EmmanuelAcho has ZERO faith in the Chiefs and says their season ends on Sunday 😲

Even though the Denver Broncos and New England Patriots have won more games in a row, the former sixth-round pick is way more impressed with the Texans, “Look at what the Houston Texans did to Josh Allen. Look at what they did to the Colts. These are must-win games, and the Texans are 7-2 in their last nine.”
Acho listed off a few of the Texans’ defensive players that he believes match up perfectly against this Chiefs offense. He doesn’t think their receivers or running backs will make a dent in this defense, asking the question, “How are the Chiefs going to score?”
While it’s hard to bet against Patrick Mahomes and his B-grade in PFSN’s QB Impact Metric, this isn’t the Chiefs’ dynasty the NFL is used to. The Texans are one of many teams that are beginning to take over, and they aren’t letting these dynasties faze them. No matter the Colts’ record or how good Josh Allen is, the Texans won both of those games by four points.
It may be close, it may be low scoring, but those are two things that favor the Texans. They’ve won their last three games by four points or fewer, but they’ve won four games in a row for a reason. Even when C.J. Stroud was injured, Davis Mills led them to victories due to Houston’s dominant run game and their stellar defense.
It usually would be a bold take to say the Chiefs’ season is over at this point in the season, but should Houston get the job done, the writing is on the wall. Kansas City hasn’t been able to win this season consistently, and that’s something a team like Houston has gotten extremely comfortable with. Sure, they started 0-3, but Acho pointed out what they’ve done since, and it’s nothing short of incredible.
