Justin Jefferson is on pace to have the worst season of his career, and after a week in which the star caught just two passes, things may have hit rock bottom.
On Sunday, the Minnesota Vikings dropped their fourth straight contest in a 26-0 blowout at the hands of the Seattle Seahawks. Jefferson had the worst game of his season as well, catching two passes from rookie quarterback Max Brosmer for a total of four yards.
With Minnesota continuing to spiral out of control, what does this mean for the LSU product?
NFL Analyst Drops Massive Message Regarding Upcoming Offseason for Justin Jefferson
With 799 receiving yards through 12 games this season, the Vikings’ top wideout has struggled mightily. As the 26-year-old has had next to no help from his quarterbacks this year, PFSN’s Jason Katz believes it is time Jefferson takes matters into his own hands.
In a post on X, Katz detailed what he views as the best route forward for the 2020 first-round draft choice.
“One of the first orders of offseason business for Justin Jefferson is to demand a trade,” Katz wrote. “Jefferson’s 2025 season hit rock bottom with two receptions for four yards in Week 13 as Max Brosmer put on the worst performance of any QB this season. He’s now failed to hit 50 receiving yards in four of his last five and hasn’t scored since Week 9.”

Jefferson’s struggles appear to have intensified since veteran Carson Wentz was sidelined with a season-ending shoulder injury in October. Since then, neither J.J. McCarthy nor Max Brosmer has been able to get the talented wideout the ball at an adequate rate.
Jefferson Lands Worst WR Grade of Career Amid Current Struggles
Using PFSN’s WR Impact metric, the sixth-year pro is having a historically bad season. At a 79.2 score and a C+ grade, Jefferson ranks outside the top 20 receivers.
The 6’1″ wideout’s previous career-low grade was a B+, showing clear and distinct struggles in 2025. Additionally, Jefferson has never finished a season outside the top 10 receivers; a seventh-place finish in 2024 was his previous low.
A look at PFSN’s QB Impact metric shows both McCarthy and Wentz (Jefferson’s primary quarterbacks in 2025) ranking outside the top 20 gunslingers in the NFL. At 24th and 38th, respectively, it has been nearly impossible for Vikings receivers to excel.
With only five games remaining in Minnesota’s 2025 season, it will be intriguing to see if Jefferson’s quarterback can get him the ball more often and return to the star wideout he has shown to be in the past.
