Jordan Addison Injury Update: What’s the Latest on the Vikings Star, and Will He Play in Week 15?

Jordan Addison injury update for the struggling Vikings ahead of their Week 15 matchup against the Cowboys on Sunday Night Football.

Jordan Addison missed the first three weeks of the 2025 NFL season for the Minnesota Vikings, but he has played in every game since then. His absence was due to a suspension for violating the league’s substance abuse policy. Still, he’s now dealing with an Achilles injury ahead of their Week 15 matchup against the Dallas Cowboys. This puts his potential availability in jeopardy.

Will Jordan Addison Play in Week 15?

The Vikings will be featured in Week 15 on Sunday Night Football against the Cowboys. They will likely need all of the offensive weapons they can get to keep up with Dallas’ high-powered offense, but they are in danger of being without Addison.

The veteran wide receiver popped up on the injury report on Wednesday with an Achilles injury. He was officially listed as a limited participant for the practice session, so being on the field in some capacity is a reason for optimism around his potential availability.

His practice activity on Thursday and Friday will provide a better insight into whether he will be able to play against the Cowboys this week. If he can return to full participation at any point, his chances of playing significantly improve, but if he remains limited or if his status regresses, he becomes questionable to play, at best.

It has been a frustrating season for the Vikings, who entered 2025 with massive expectations following their impressive 14-3 record last year. They notably moved on from Sam Darnold and Daniel Jones during the offseason, and J.J. McCarthy has severely struggled in his first season as a starter.

He has also dealt with injuries this year, resulting in Carson Wentz and Max Brosmer making starts for Vikings during the course of the season. All of the inconsistencies contribute to why their wide receivers haven’t been nearly as effective as they were in years past.

This includes Addison ranking just 65th among wide receivers in PFSN’s Impact Rankings, while Justin Jefferson shockingly ranks just 38th.

Regardless of his struggles, having Addison available against the Cowboys surely gives them a much better chance of coming away with a victory. His presence could also help McCarthy continue to develop his game, as this should be their primary focus down the final stretch of the 2025 season.

They have just a 5-8 record so far, and while they have yet to be mathematically eliminated from playoff contention, their postseason hopes are all but over at this point.
