49ers Fans Urge John Lynch to Address Trenches with No. 27 Pick in NFL Draft

San Francisco 49ers fans urge John Lynch to address the offensive trenches with the twenty-seventh pick in the NFL Draft.

Despite dealing with injuries throughout the 2025 season, the San Francisco 49ers still reached the playoffs before falling in the Divisional Round. The front office has been active in free agency, highlighted by a three-year deal worth up to $60.4 million for Mike Evans.

However, heading into the 2026 NFL Draft, the 49ers still have key areas to address. General manager John Lynch holds one first-round pick, and fans have made their priorities clear.

Why Blake Miller Is the Top Choice for 49ers Fans in the 2026 NFL Draft

In addition to signing Evans, San Francisco strengthened its defense by adding veteran cornerback Nate Hobbs and acquiring Osa Odighizuwa from the Dallas Cowboys. With Nick Bosa recovering from a torn ACL and the defense coming off an NFL-low 20 sacks, the unit has significant questions to answer.

Although the departure of Bryce Huff leaves a gap, many fans believe that the need can be addressed later in the draft. Instead, the focus has shifted heavily toward upgrading the offensive line. According to PFSN’s Mock Draft Simulator, 46% of users favor selecting an offensive tackle.

That preference is understandable. The 49ers’ offensive line allowed 27 sacks last season (74.4 PFSN OL Impact), and to maintain some stability, or even improve, they’ll need to shore up at tackle. With Trent Williams (37) and Colton McKivitz (29) aging, Lynch has to bolster depth at the position, and the No. 27 pick could be an ideal spot to address that need, with Blake Miller emerging as a popular choice among fans (15.5%).

Miller is considered one of the top offensive tackles in the 2026 class. With 54 college starts, he is viewed as one of the most polished and well-rounded linemen available.

Kadyn Proctor (9.8%), another highly regarded prospect from Alabama, ranks second among fan preferences. At nearly 6-foot-7, Proctor offers elite size, power, and the versatility to play guard if needed.

Max Iheanachor out of Arizona State (9.5%) sits third. While he is considered more of a developmental prospect, analysts see significant upside. ESPN’s Mel Kiper Jr. projected him to land with San Francisco at No. 27, a view echoed by PFSN’s Reese Decker, who described him as “one of the most physically gifted, yet raw, prospects in the class.”

“Iheanachor is a big-bodied lineman with agile feet and strong hands. He excels as a run blocker, moves well to the second level, and plays with a nasty temperament that John Lynch will appreciate. He’s a work in progress, but the upside may be worth the investment.”

However, the chances of landing Miller or Proctor at No. 27 appear slim, as both are widely projected to be selected in the first round. San Francisco may need to trade up if it hopes to secure either player.

Meanwhile, wide receiver ranks as the second-biggest need among fans at 19.7%, suggesting some want additional weapons alongside Christian McCaffrey, George Kittle, and Evans.
