Falcons Predicted to Sign 26-TD RB in Free Agency ‘To Complement Bijan Robinson’

Bijan Robinson could have a running mate that the Atlanta Falcons could find in free agency that could help the super star back.

When it comes to the best backs in the NFL, Bijan Robinson reigns at the top. It is crazy to think that there is a way that Robinson could up his game. However, if the Atlanta Falcons brought in free agent running back J.K. Dobbins, things for the Falcons could get fascinating.

Why J.K. Dobbins to Atlanta Helps Bijan Robinson

When Dobbins has played, he has looked great. However, the keyword there is “has,” as injuries are something that Dobbins has struggled with.

As Moe Moton of Bleacher Report said, “Dobbins should endure less wear and tear playing behind Robinson, which could increase his chances of playing through a full campaign.” Ever since Dobbins got drafted by the Baltimore Ravens in 2020, he has unfortunately only played 39% of NFL games due to injuries.

Falcons new head coach Kevin Stefanski has shown that he is great at designing run plays in his time in the NFL. In Cleveland, Nick Chubb made four consecutive Pro Bowls and averaged 5.1 yards per carry. This bodes well for Dobbins as both Chubb and he are more physical runners, so Chubb could see a lot of success in Atlanta under Stefanski.

Besides coaching, Atlanta also boasts a very nice O-line for Dobbins to run behind. Right Guard Chris Lindstrom is a four-time Pro Bowler and a staple for the Falcons’ o-line. Tackles Kaleb McGary and Jake Matthews have also established themselves as reliable names on the Falcons’ line.

Why Dobbins to Atlanta Helps the Falcons

With the Falcons releasing Kirk Cousins, all eyes will be on Penix to be the new starter for the Falcons. So far, Penix Jr. has had a lot of up-and-down moments in the NFL. He has had some great games in the NFL such as against the New England Patriots where he threw 3 touchdowns against the eventual AFC Champions in Week 9 of this past off season.

However, he has also had some poor performances, such as going 18 for 36 and throwing two picks against the Carolina Panthers. So bringing in Dobbins, a veteran who could help both on and off the field, should be very beneficial for Penix Jr.’s development.

Robinson is one of the best backs in the NFL. In 2025, Robinson had 1,478 yards and averaged an outstanding 5.1 yards per carry.

Defense’s main focus against the Falcons would be stopping Robinson, but bringing in Dobbins, a proven two-back, could make defenses split hairs over who to stop.

If the defense focuses on Robinson, Dobbins could come in and thrash and slash against a tired defense. If they focus on Dobbins, Robinson is a proven back and could cause havoc for any defense that tries to stop him.

Overall, whether it be the team or player, Dobbins to the Falcons could be a move that could help them reach new, exciting heights.
