Jakobi Meyers has been one of the many names rumored to be available ahead of the 2025 NFL trade deadline. The Las Vegas Raiders have struggled to just a 2-6 record this season, so they could potentially sell some of their veterans, including the wide receiver.
He is also on an expiring contract, which further suggests that he could be on the move this year. He has been connected to rumors that could send him to a playoff contender, including an AFC powerhouse.

Jakobi Meyers Trade Rumors and Potential Destination
Meyers is currently in his third year with the Raiders, but his contract expires at the end of the 2025 NFL season. Veterans on expiring contracts with struggling teams are often made available at the trade deadline, which is rumored to be the case.
UPDATE: The Jaguars have completed a trade to acquire Meyers from the Raiders ahead of the deadline.
The Pittsburgh Steelers have emerged as a potential destination as they currently lack depth at their wide receiver position. They currently sit on top of the AFC North division and have their sights set on a playoff run, so being buyers for upgrades makes a ton of sense.
Andrew Fillipponi of “The Fan” in Pittsburgh apparently has sights set on the Raiders star just hours before the deadline arrives. He shared the wide receiver’s name from his X account with eye emojis, potentially suggesting to watch for the Steelers to make a theoretical move for him.

The franchise made major changes to their offense during the offseason, including adding DK Metcalf to lead their wide receivers. They followed this up with a surprising move to send George Pickens to the Dallas Cowboys, so they essentially replaced him rather than adding a weapon to the position for Aaron Rodgers.
Metcalf is having a strong season as he currently comes in at 19th on PFSN’s Impact Rankings, but the rest of their wide receivers are relatively weak. Meyers comes in at just 52nd right now, but some of this is due to the Raiders’ struggling offense. He ranked 32nd last season.
The veteran is surely capable of providing an upgrade to their passing offense and would likely plug into their WR2 role immediately. He has exceeded 65 receptions and 800 yards in each of the past four seasons, including two each for the Raiders and New England Patriots.
The Steelers are in an excellent position entering Week 10 with a two-game lead atop their division and just 1.5 games out of the top seed in the AFC playoff picture. Adding another wide receiver is a logical upgrade for the second half of the season and Meyers is an ideal candidate.
