Jacksonville Jaguars starting quarterback Trevor Lawrence is not too happy about seeing running back Travis Etienne Jr. sign a $52 million free agent contract with the New Orleans Saints.
While Lawrence is likely pleased that his now-former running back got paid, he posted a reply online that shared his feelings about the move.

On Monday, Lawrence headed to X and shared a cartoon image of a crying Patrick Star, a character from “SpongeBob SquarePants,” with a nine-word message to Etienne.
“@swaggy_t1 (Etienne’s X handle), gonna miss you bro,” Lawrence wrote with a crying-face emoji. “As real as they come.”

Etienne himself reacted on X, reposting a post from SleeperNFL’s account that noted both Lawrence and Etienne have been teammates since 2018. Both played for the Clemson Tigers under head coach Dabo Swinney.

Later Monday afternoon, Lawrence posted pictures of him and Etienne together — one with their young kids in their arms and another from their Clemson days.
“We’ve come a long way!! Going to miss you man been a hell of an 8 year run. Best is yet to come,” Lawrence wrote.
