The Jacksonville Jaguars found themselves in a battle on Sunday against the Arizona Cardinals, being forced into overtime with a 24-24 tie. But Cam Little hit a game-winning field goal that sent the Jaguars to a 27-24 win over the Cardinals in Glendale, Ariz.
The Jaguars faced a tough contest in the Valley of the Sun, but they have improved their chances of making the NFL playoffs.
What Are Jaguars’ NFL Playoff Chances?
Jaguars quarterback Trevor Lawrence had himself quite a day, connecting with three of his players for touchdowns against Arizona.
On the day, Lawrence was 18-of-30 passing for 256 yards, three touchdowns, and three interceptions. Travis Etienne Jr. paced the Jaguars’ rushing attack, carrying the ball 15 times for 86 yards. As far as receivers went, Brenton Strange and Parker Washington both caught five balls from Lawrence.

Etienne added a touchdown catch to his efforts, while Washington and Jakobi Meyers were on the receiving end of two more Lawrence touchdown passes. The victory pushed Jacksonville to 7-4 overall, 3-2 on the road this season.

As for the Super Bowl, if Jaguars fans want to look that far ahead, then the Jaguars now have a 3.30% chance of winning it. What about the No. 1 overall seed in the AFC? Jacksonville now has a 2.6% chance for that spot.
Entering Sunday’s game against Arizona, according to the PFSN NFL Offense Impact metrics, the Jaguars had an impact score of 73.0 and graded out at a C-. Those numbers probably will improve a little bit after the big overtime victory on the road.
What about Lawrence and his impact score? According to the PFSN NFL QB Impact metrics, entering Sunday’s action, the Jaguars’ QB had an impact score of 66.3 and graded out to a D. His play on Sunday had a mixture of both good and not-so-good results, but Lawrence was able to get his team into a position for the overtime victory.
Jacksonville needed to get a win on Sunday to help its NFL playoff chances stay on the positive side. The Jaguars got the job done as head coach Liam Coen saw his team come through in the clutch.
