Jaguars Announce Brian Thomas Jr., Brenton Strange, Bhayshul Tuten Injury Updates on Thursday for Week 12

The Jacksonville Jaguars have some key players that are banged up this week, but they all were able to do something in practice on Thursday, which is a good sign.

The Jacksonville Jaguars are having a strong season through 11 weeks. They are 6-4 and find themselves two games out of first place in the AFC South. However, the Jaguars have played themself into a Wild Card spot in the AFC playoff picture.

It is their first season with head coach Liam Coen, and he has unlocked their offense and quarterback Trevor Lawrence. However, the Jags are at their best when they have their full offensive depth chart available. That is why they need to get Brian Thomas, Brenton Strange, and Bhayshul Tuten on the field.

Jacksonville Jaguars Announce Injury Updates on Key Stars

Jacksonville is hoping all three of the players mentioned above will be able to suit up in Week 12. Thomas, Strange, and Tuten were all limited participants in practice on Thursday, according to Underdog.

Thomas has not played since Week 9 and has had an underwhelming season so far. He has caught 30 passes for 420 yards and one touchdown on the year. Thomas also has a WR Impact Score of 67.9, which is a D+. After an incredible rookie season, he has seemingly run into a “sophomore slump” this year.

As for Strange, he has been on injured reserve after getting hurt in Week 5. Yet, he has been designated to return, and that looks like a possibility this week. Tuten was the Jaguars’ fourth-round pick in the recent NFL Draft, and he has become more involved in the offense as the season has progressed.

Tuten is coming off his best rushing game of the season, going for 74 yards on 15 carries. With Travis Etienne also banged up, we could see a heavy dose of Tuten in Week 12 as long as he is active. Tuten and Etienne have had a similar impact this season and seem to feed off one another. Tuten has an RB Impact Score of 76.0, while Etienne has 79.7.

Jaguars Eyeing Return to Postseason

The Jaguars will likely need to get to 10 wins to make the postseason. That means they need to win four of their last seven games. If you look at their schedule, that looks like a distinct possibility. The Jaguars have four games remaining against teams under .500, and they will have to win all of them.

The Jaguars have not been to the postseason since 2022, when they beat the Los Angeles Chargers in the Wild Card round before losing to the Kansas City Chiefs in the Divisional Round. Just making the playoffs would be a successful season for this Jaguars team, and that should be their only goal over the final 1.5 months.
