Rome Odunze missed the final five weeks of the NFL regular season after suffering a stress fracture in his foot. He was able to return for the Wild Card matchup with the Green Bay Packers, but has been on the injury report since.
The Chicago Bears are gearing up to host the Los Angeles Rams in the Divisional Round of the NFL Playoffs, but will they have their talented second-year wide receiver available for the game?
What Is Rome Odunze’s Status Ahead of the Bears’ Divisional Round Game?
After a pair of limited practices on Wednesday and Thursday, Odunze has been upgraded to a full participant for Friday’s practice on the Bears’ injury report and is officially listed as questionable for the Divisional Round.
In addition to the positive news on Odunze, the Bears have also received positive updates on D.J. Moore, C.J. Gardner-Johnson, Braxton Jones, and Joe Tryon-Shoyinka, who have all been removed from the injury report and are good to go against the Rams, as Chicago gets much closer to full strength.
“There was soreness, but at this part of the season, it’s all hands-on deck and play through it,” Odunze told reporters after the Wild Card game. “I’ll ride it ‘til the wheels fall off.”

Odunze ranked as the No. 39 wide receiver in PFSN’s Wide Receiver Impact rankings (WRi), catching 44 of 90 targets for 661 yards and six touchdowns in 12 games. In his first game back from the injury, Odunze played 69% of snaps, catching two of six targets for 44 yards. If he suits up, his snap share will be worth monitoring to see if it increases from the slight limitation against the Packers.
The former Washington star suffered the injury during the final minutes of the Black Friday game against the Philadelphia Eagles in Week 13. While Odunze continues to appear on the injury report, his questionable status last week after limited practices suggests he is trending towards suiting up.
Having both Odunze and Moore healthy would be a massive boost for Caleb Williams alongside Luther Burden and Colston Loveland in a game where Chicago’s offense may need to score in bunches.
Chicago faces a tough test against the Rams, who are the top-ranked offense in PFSN’s Offense Impact rankings (OFFi), led by quarterback Matthew Stafford, who is in the running for MVP after leading the NFL in passing yards and passing touchdowns.
The Rams will hope to have Odunze suit up in Sunday’s Divisional Round clash, as they look to make it back to the NFC Conference Championship game for the first time since the 2010 season.
