The Buffalo Bills and New England Patriots went head-to-head in Week 15 at Foxborough Stadium, with the Bills desperately needing a win to keep any aspirations of winning the AFC East alive.
Despite a 24-7 first-half deficit, the Bills have come storming back in the second half as the two teams atop the division continue to trade blows with every drive in the second half. However, after getting a little banged up, the cameras panned to a troubling sight for Bills QB Josh Allen on the sideline. Here’s everything to know about his status.
What Happened to Buffalo Bills QB Josh Allen?
Allen was not injured coming into the Week 15 matchup against the Patriots. However, after getting sacked two times and taking a few hits, the Bills quarterback appeared to get banged up in the second half of their battle against New England.
While he didn’t miss any snaps, cameras flashed to Allen throwing up on the sidelines as the Patriots kicked off to the Bills with just under ten minutes remaining in the fourth quarter. Allen would take the field despite clearly not feeling his best and drive Buffalo’s offense 65 yards down the field to score a touchdown to take a 35-31 lead.

After a midseason slump for Buffalo’s offense, Allen is back to firing on all cylinders. Despite the slow start in Week 15, Allen turned it on in the second half, completing 19 of 28 passes for 193 yards and three touchdowns, along with eight carries for 51 yards.
Entering Week 15, Buffalo had the third-highest ranked offense in the NFL according to PFSN’s Offense Impact metric with a score of 86.3. A lot of that is due to Allen’s late-season surge. He’s currently the top-rated signal-caller in PFSN’s QB Impact metric, leading the NFL with a score of 91.3.
While there’s still a significant amount of work to be done to catch up to the Patriots in the AFC East race, the win in Week 15 helps a great deal. Allen is following up his 2024 MVP season with another respectable season.
Through 13 games in 2025, Allen has completed 265 of 378 passes for 3,083 yards, 22 touchdowns, and ten interceptions. He’s also rushed 87 times for 487 yards and 12 touchdowns. Matchups against the Cleveland Browns and Philadelphia Eagles in the next couple of weeks won’t be easy by any means, but the Bills will have the opportunity to finish their 2025 campaign with a home game against the New York Jets.
