Philadelphia Eagles wide receiver A.J. Brown is no stranger to controversy, especially when the ball isn’t headed his way. Fans might not have to wait long for his next plea for the football after Week 10 against the Green Bay Packers.
Despite receiving Philadelphia’s first pass of the game, Brown finished the first half with just two catches for 13 yards, leaving fans to wonder whether the star is hurt.
What Happened to A.J. Brown?
Brown is not hurt. His production, or lack thereof, is merely a symptom of the Eagles’ offensive struggles through two quarters.
He caught each of his first two targets, but short, ineffective drives have limited opportunities for all of Philadelphia’s playmakers.
According to PFSN’s WR Impact metric, Browns is the 37th-ranked receiver in the league this season.

This isn’t the first time Brown has struggled to produce early in games; he has had multiple uncharacteristically unproductive contests in 2025. He was limited to one catch for eight yards in the season opener against the Dallas Cowboys. Although he saw eight targets the next week, he generated only 27 yards. In Week 4, the Tampa Bay Buccaneers held him to two catches and seven yards.
That inconsistency has been par for the course of an Eagles offense that is falling short of expectations. By PFSN’s Offense Impact metric, Philadelphia ranks 12th.
Even so, the Eagles have peppered Brown with targets. He entered the Week 10 finale with 51 on the year, which he has turned into 29 catches for 395 yards and three scores.
Brown dealt with a hamstring injury earlier in the year, missing Week 8’s win over the New York Giants. Coming off the Week 9 bye, he did not carry an injury designation heading into the frigid Green Bay weather. Brown does not appear to be playing through an injury.

Meanwhile, quarterback Jalen Hurts had an unsteady first half, completing only seven of his first 13 attempts for 48 yards. That doesn’t leave much room for production. To the Packers’ credit, their defense has done an excellent job of limiting explosive plays and keeping Philadelphia’s best players in check. Co-star DeVonta Smith led the team with 17 receiving yards in the first half.
Brown has still managed to post big numbers in a couple of contests, most notably against the Minnesota Vikings in Week 7, when he logged four catches for 121 yards and two touchdowns. His other 100-yard game came in Week 3 against the Los Angeles Rams, shortly after his frustration became apparent.
In a game that entered halftime tied 0-0, Brown’s ability to take over games would alleviate concerns about his health and help the Eagles reach the finish line as victors.
