Giants Predicted To Trade for $84,750,000 WR As Malik Nabers’ ‘Running Mate’

After losing Malik Nabers for the season, one analyst wants the New York Giants to find some depth in the wide receiver room.

Since Jaxson Dart took over as their starting quarterback, the New York Giants have looked like a new team. Even though they’ve gone 2-2 over that stretch, with some harrowing losses to the New Orleans Saints and the Denver Broncos, they’ve also been exceptional in other instances, such as the victories over the Los Angeles Chargers and the Philadelphia Eagles.

To do most, if not all of it, without their number one wide receiver is a testament to the team’s excellence and the kind of talent they have in Dart. However, with Malik Nabers set to miss the entire 2025 season, the current model isn’t a sustainable one for consistent offensive production. As a result, one analyst believes the organization needs to engage in a trade before the deadline to raise its ceiling.

New York Giants Could Find New Running Mate for Malik Nabers

The Giants have the 27th-ranked offense on PFSN’s Offense Impact on the season. But the unit has been progressively getting better each of the last four weeks, with a seventh and eleventh-place finish in Weeks 6 and 7, respectively.

To do that without Nabers, who, after a historic rookie season, was showing signs of productivity even with Russell Wilson as the starting quarterback, has been a marvelous accomplishment by New York.

But if the team wants to go on a legitimate run and try to become a surprise playoff team out of the NFC, then they need more playmakers on the team. As a result, Josh Weil of PFSN has them as one of four teams that could be ideal landing spots for Jaylen Waddle.

With the Miami Dolphins on the brink of a complete roster teardown, the talented wide receiver is going to be among the most sought-after players on the team. Even with the 1-6 start, he has continued to produce, with 405 yards and three touchdowns through seven games, good for 16th on PFSN’s WR Impact.

Occupying a similar role as he does currently beside Tyreek Hill, Waddle could be the perfect complimentary to Nabers upon his return. In the first season of his three-year extension, worth $84.75 million, that he signed with the Dolphins, the Giants are among the few teams that could digest his deal.

Weil, though, had a bold prediction for how good the NY could be with the veteran wide receiver. “Waddle would speed the Giants’ timeline up immensely, and with him under contract for the foreseeable future, this team would be a dark horse candidate for me as soon as next season with Waddle on board.”

If the organization’s goal is to improve the team for next season, it could hold off on any potential deals. After shocking a knack for knocking it out of the park in the draft, the Giants could very well try to find a running mate for Nabers from the 2026 class.

But, if they do not want to give up on the 2025 season entirely, then a more immediate move could be on the board to upgrade their wide receiver core.
