It’s no secret that the 2025 season has been a challenging one for the New York Jets. The team is sitting at 1-7 and is buried at the bottom of the AFC East in Aaron Glenn’s first season as the head coach. The team did get its first win in Week 8, though, and enjoyed a bye week in Week 9.
The hope is that the team can make noticeable improvements over the second half of the season. If they’re able to do so, star wide receiver Garrett Wilson will likely be a huge part of the rebound plan. Wilson has missed the last two games with a knee injury, but will the receiver be ready to return in Week 10?

Aaron Glenn Provides Positive Update on Wilson
According to ESPN’s Rich Cimini, Glenn said on Monday that Wilson will indeed practice this week.
“WR Garrett Wilson (knee) will practice this week. How much, Glenn wouldn’t say, but it’s a positive step,” Cimini explained. The receiver has not practiced since suffering the injury in London in Week 6.
Knee injuries can be tricky to come back from, especially for an explosive receiver like Wilson, so it’s understandable if the team is a little cautious. There’s no denying that Wilson is missed on this offense, though.

Even after missing two games, Wilson still easily leads the Jets in catches, receiving yards, and receiving scores. The Ohio State product has caught 36 passes for 395 yards and four touchdowns so far in 2025. No other wide receiver on the team has more than 11 catches in 2025.
PFSN’s WR Impact ranking gives Wilson a 75.5 grade for his performance this season. It’s not surprising that the other receivers on the team have failed to produce, though, as starting quarterback Justin Fields has a 69.7 grade according to PFSN’s QB Impact ranking.

It’s disappointing to see Wilson missing time after he had his best season in 2024. Last season, the receiver caught 101 passes for 1,104 yards and seven touchdowns. The receiver set new career-highs in each of those categories and was rewarded with a new four-year, $130 million extension this offseason as a result.
Since coming into the league in 2022, Wilson has eclipsed the 1,000-yard mark in each season and won the Offensive Rookie of the Year Award in 2022. 2025 is also the first time the receiver has missed a game in his four-year career, demonstrating his remarkable durability.
We will find out later this week whether Wilson will take the field with the Jets against the Cleveland Browns in Week 10.
