Former Chiefs WR Shares 3-Word Message About Tyreek Hill After Dolphins Release 5-Time All-Pro

A former Chiefs WR offered a short and sweet message to the Chiefs about Tyreek Hill after Hill was released by the Dolphins.

The Kansas City Chiefs need to retool their roster to return to the levels they’ve reached during Patrick Mahomes’ tenure as the starting QB. They missed the playoffs and need to find answers to return to the Super Bowl. One former Chief thinks there’s a solution that just hit the market today after the Dolphins released five-time All-Pro Tyreek Hill.

Potential Tyreek Hill Reunion in Kansas City

Hill has to find a new home. Kansas City’s offense has been carried by Mahomes, whose brilliance kept quite a few problems out of the spotlight until they surfaced massively in the 2025 season.

Former Chief Gehrig Dieter, a teammate of Hill’s during his time with the Chiefs, had a simple message for the Chiefs’ front office. “Bring him home!!” said Dieter.

Mahomes and Hill were one of the most electrifying duos in the NFL during their four full seasons as teammates. Hill moved on to the Dolphins, where he put up the best season of his career in 2023, tallying 1,799 receiving yards and 13 touchdowns, which led the NFL.

He was the top-ranked receiver in the PFSN NFL WR Impact score in that season, and he finished second in Offensive Player of the Year voting.

The previous two seasons for Hill haven’t gone according to plan. He struggled mightily in 2024 as the Dolphins dealt with injuries at quarterback and didn’t get to 1,000 yards. This season, his season came to an end after a gruesome, season-ending injury in Week 4 against the New York Jets on primetime.

It is unknown what Hill will be like when he returns, as he’s getting older and is coming off a terrible injury. But the Chiefs are a familiar situation for Hill, and the system is still the same. Mahomes, Travis Kelce, and Andy Reid are still around, and the band could be getting together for one last ride as Kelce likely eyes retirement following next season.

Dieter wants it to happen, too. If Hill can regain his form for another season or two, the Chiefs offense could see a major improvement. The Chiefs’ offense was 17th in PFSN’s Offense Impact score. For a team with Mahomes at the helm, this is unheard of. The team needs to improve its offensive line and its offensive weapons.

Xavier Worthy didn’t make the jump fans expected, Rashee Rice was suspended for 6 games this season, and Kelce is aging.

They’ll need a receiver and a running back to add some dynamism to the backfield, and as Dieter suggests, Hill could be the answer as a familiar weapon on the outside for Mahomes. As Hill examines his options, the Chiefs could very well be toward the top of the list.
