D’Andre Swift Injury Update: Should Fantasy Managers Worry About the Bears RB’s Week 12 Status?

D'Andre Swift played through a hip injury last week and finds himself on the practice report once again. Will the Bears running back miss Week 12?

The Chicago Bears look to extend their winning ways as they prepare for their Week 12 matchup against the Pittsburgh Steelers. D’Andre Swift is dealing with a hip injury that limited his practice time on Wednesday. Will fantasy football managers have the Bears running back available this week?

D’Andre Swift Injury Update

Swift opened this week with another Wednesday limited practice due to his hip issue. The sixth-year running back has been listed with the hip injury for multiple weeks now, making this a familiar sight on Chicago’s practice report.

This has been the routine for weeks now. Swift is either DNP or limited on Wednesday before progressing throughout the week and ultimately playing. Last week followed the exact same pattern – Swift was limited Wednesday due to the hip injury before upgrading to full participation Thursday.

Swift then proceeded to dominate the Bears’ backfield in Sunday’s 19-17 victory at Minnesota. He handled a season-high 21 carries for 90 yards while earning a 57 percent snap share. His performance demonstrated no limitations from the hip problem that kept him off the practice field early in the week.

There is no cause for concern here. Swift has consistently appeared on the injury report throughout the 2025 season with various ailments, yet he continues to play through his issues and rarely misses time. The fact that he practiced at all on Wednesday – even in a limited capacity – is an encouraging sign given his pattern of Wednesday DNPs earlier this season.

Swift will be fine come Sunday. Thursday’s practice report will likely show him upgraded to full participation, mirroring the progression from last week. Fantasy managers should not be concerned about his availability for the matchup against Pittsburgh.

Swift’s Fantasy Football Outlook

I’m of the belief that you can largely tell what the team views as their strengths with what they show you early.

Week 10 First Quarter Snap Shares

  • Swift: 52.6%
  • Monangai: 47.4%

Week 11 First Quarter Snap Shares

  • Swift: 63.6%
  • Monangai: 18.2%

This, to me, looks like a running back coming back from an injury and working toward full strength. Swift has 19+ carries or multiple receptions every time he’s been on the field this season, a role that locks him into my top 20 weekly.

Would I like for this offense to be more consistent? Of course I would, but with volume like that, the baseline is high enough at this point in the season to feel good about him being locked into your weekly lineup.

The schedule is brutal for the Bears coming home, but there is a trip to San Francisco in Week 17 if you can survive up until that point. Their success should keep Swift’s 15+ touch role safe for the remainder of the season.

Upcoming Schedule

  • Week 13 at Eagles
  • Week 14 at Packers
  • Week 15 vs. Browns
  • Week 16 vs. Packers
