The Seattle Seahawks were absolutely dominant on primetime against the Washington Commanders. That should have been the storyline of the night, but the Commanders left Jayden Daniels in the game down 31 points, and he suffered a gruesome arm injury that has likely cost him the rest of the 2025 season.
Ex-Eagles linebacker Emmanuel Acho did not hesitate to go after the Commanders for leaving Daniels in the game and risking injury.
Emmanuel Acho Rips Into the Commanders
The injury to Daniels was highly preventable, as the team could have taken him out of the game when they were getting blown out. Daniels has already missed three games in 2025 due to an injury. This was his first game back from a hamstring injury that kept him out of Week 8, which was his second stint on the sidelines. Now, he is destined for a third stint on the sideline. Acho called out the irresponsibility of keeping Daniels in the game for no reason.
“I don’t like throwing out the word negligent often, but what the Washington Commanders have done with Jayden Daniels this season has been grossly irresponsible,” wrote Acho on X.

Daniels has done everything to ensure that he was available as much as possible. The knee injury that kept him out of two games early in the season did not deter him as he worked to return to action quickly. Coming off another injury to his leg, Acho was confused as to why the Commanders didn’t protect Daniels and give him time to rest once the game was over. Now, their season is more over than it already was.
“Down by 31 with 8 minutes left, and an already hampered quarterback, why is Jayden Daniels still in the game, Acho added. “Praying for the young man. It’s been a hard year for him and Washington.”

It was a heartbreaking scene on the field as Daniels lay down in considerable pain. Teammates and coaches were visibly shaken and emotional as Daniels was on the ground in agony. Daniels is very tough and was running for his life for the majority of the game, but he kept fighting until he couldn’t anymore, which likely ended his season.
Entering Week 9, Daniels was the 23rd-ranked quarterback based on PFSN’s QB Impact metric with an impact score of 74.3. He was trying to lead the Commanders to a big win over the Seahawks, but struggled to get much going on offense. The offensive line struggled mightily, and outside of Daniels’ scrambling, the ground game was also poor.
The Commanders must face the reality that leaving Daniels in has ended any slim chance of making a run. Acho wasn’t happy as he called out the Commanders for doing it in the past with other quarterbacks. Although it was a close game, Washington fans will be getting flashbacks to Robert Griffin III’s devastating injury and hoping that Daniels will not be a repeat of that story. For now, they will be awaiting the latest news on their star quarterback’s health.
