Jayden Daniels and the Washington Commanders played host to the Seattle Seahawks on Sunday Night Football in Week 9. Entering the game, the Commanders desperately needed to get a win after dropping their previous three games. However, the Seahawks dominated this game from the jump, and the Commanders found themselves in a deep hole in the fourth quarter.
With the Commanders down 38-7 halfway through the fourth quarter, Daniels suffered what appeared to be a serious injury. A cart was brought out for the quarterback, and a cast was seen on his arm as he left the field. Former Washington quarterback Robert Griffin III immediately took to social media with an emotional post following the devastating injury.

Robert Griffin III Left Speechless by Jayden Daniels’ Injury
Shortly after the injury, Griffin posted a video to X. The former quarterback couldn’t even muster a word as he looked visibly shaken by the injury. After about 30 seconds of silence, Griffin said, “I can’t do this,” and ended the recording.
The quarterback didn’t even have to say anything- it was apparent what he was thinking. Griffin, like Daniels, was a promising quarterback for Washington who couldn’t stay healthy. Griffin knows what it feels like to have a promising season derailed by injury, and he knows the pain Daniels is going to go through while missing time.
Even before Sunday night’s injury, Griffin and Daniels were frequently compared to each other. In fact, Daniels’ mom, Regina, even took to X last month to ask people to stop “manifesting” RGIII on her son. Griffin was a great player, but injuries derailed his career, and the hope is that Daniels won’t meet the same fate.
Griffin played for Washington from 2012 to 2014. He had an outstanding rookie season for the team, just like Daniels did last year, winning Offensive Rookie of the Year and being selected to the Pro Bowl.
However, 2012 was unfortunately the peak of Griffin’s pro career, and he never played in more than seven games after 2014.
Griffin wasn’t the only former NFLer with a reaction to Daniels’ injury. Emmanuel Acho, who spent two seasons with the Philadelphia Eagles, questioned the team’s decision to keep Daniels in the game during a blowout.
Down by 31 with 8 minutes left, and a already hampered quarterback, why is Jayden Daniels still in the game.
Praying for the young man. It’s been a hard year for him and Washington.

We will likely know more about Daniels’ injury on Monday, but it doesn’t look good. Here’s to hoping the young star can get back to the field as soon as possible.
