Jalen Ramsey may be one of the top cornerbacks in the NFL when he’s at his best, but the mercurial star has worn out his welcome with the teams he’s played for in the past. That might be the case again with his current team, the Miami Dolphins, as trade rumors surrounding the cornerback swirl this offseason.
That speculation likely won’t die down with the news that Ramsey has purchased a home in Fort Worth, Texas, fueling buzz about a potential move to the Dallas Cowboys.
Jalen Ramsey Buys New House 15 Minutes From Cowboys Stadium
ESPN’s Jeremy Fowler first reported that the three-time All-Pro recently bought a new home in the Dallas–Fort Worth area. The location has caught attention because it’s about a 15-minute drive to AT&T Stadium, home of the Cowboys.
Dallas’ practice facility, the Ford Center at The Star, is a bit further, roughly 45 miles from Fort Worth to Frisco.
I can confirm Jalen Ramsey bought a house in Fort Worth within the last couple weeks.

It’s unclear whether the house is for Ramsey himself or someone else. He also doesn’t have any strong ties to Texas. Ramsey was born in Smyrna, Tenn., and went to high school in both Nashville and Brentwood.
Ramsey played college football in Florida for the Florida State Seminoles. In the NFL, he was drafted No. 5 overall by the Jacksonville Jaguars in 2016 before being traded to the Los Angeles Rams and then later to his current team, the Dolphins.
New House Unlikely To Result in Trade to Dallas Cowboys
While buying a home near AT&T Stadium might raise eyebrows, Cowboys insiders have downplayed the idea of an incoming trade. Mike Fisher of CowboysCountry.com reported that there has been no talk inside the building of any move to acquire Ramsey.
Dolphins general manager Chris Grier has previously said he’d be open to working with Ramsey on possible trade options.
And while the Cowboys have created some cap space — restructuring contracts for quarterback Dak Prescott and wide receiver CeeDee Lamb — they’re reportedly more focused on extending defensive star Micah Parsons than pursuing a major acquisition like Ramsey, especially so soon after trading for wide receiver George Pickens.
Ramsey is set to earn $24 million guaranteed for the 2025 season. The Cowboys, meanwhile, already have a well-paid cornerback in Trevon Diggs. They also used a third-round pick in this year’s NFL Draft on East Carolina cornerback Shavon Revel Jr. and traded for Kaiir Elam.
As far as trade options for Ramsey, a return to the Rams seems like a strong possibility at this time.
