Cornerback Jalen Ramsey has played two seasons with the Miami Dolphins, and it appears that is all he will play. Ramsey was a Pro Bowler for seven straight seasons, dating from 2017 to 2023. Despite the strong play in that time, Ramsey’s two seasons with Miami have been some of the worst in his career. The former Super Bowl champion and the Dolphins look to be parting ways after a statement from Miami’s general manager.

Dolphins GM Clearly Outlines Jalen Ramsey’s Future
ESPN recently reported that Dolphins general manager Chris Grier has no intentions of bringing the 30-year-old back.
Breaking: The Dolphins and DB Jalen Ramsey intend to part ways.
GM Chris Brier said that when it comes to Ramsey's future with the team: "We decided it was probably in the best interest for all parties to move forward [separately].” pic.twitter.com/L35cT5Wj8b

“We decided it was probably in the best interest for all parties to move forward [separately],” said Grier.
As the team captain gets set to move on, let us take a closer look at his short time with the Dolphins.
Ramsey’s Brief Stint With Dolphins as CB Looks Ahead
Ramsey played in just 27 regular-season games for the Dolphins due to a knee injury in 2023 that held him to 10 games that season. He managed to bring in 82 total tackles, five interceptions, a sack, and 16 pass defenses throughout the two seasons.
While these numbers may not seem all too bad to the casual eye, Ramsey’s career highs trump these stats. In 2022, Ramsey had 88 total tackles, two forced fumbles, two sacks, and four interceptions in just one season.
The 6’1″ cornerback’s outburst helped lead the Los Angeles Rams to their first Super Bowl title in 22 years. Their 23-20 defeat over the Cincinnati Bengals cemented players’ careers like Ramsey, Aaron Donald, and Matthew Stafford into legend status.
Whether Ramsey has similar juice left in the tank is unknown. Something for certain is that teams will look at the Florida State product as a potential key piece for their 2025 roster.
Where Will the Former 5th-Overall Pick Land Next?
The nine-year veteran is now set to join his fourth NFL squad in 2025. As the Dolphins will look to trade him, where are the top destinations for the fiery corner to land?
Ramsey’s value is projected to be a third-round pick in the upcoming 2025 NFL Draft. This is something that Ramsey’s former squad, the Los Angeles Rams, may be willing to give up. While they have corner Akhello Witherspoon, the veteran has struggled to stay healthy throughout his NFL career.
Adding Ramsey back into the mix of Witherspoon and Cobie Durant could provide somewhat of a safety blanket, barring any more injuries from the three. Along with that, there is a sense of familiarity between Ramsey and Los Angeles.
The Los Angeles Chargers represent another Los Angeles team that could potentially vie for Ramsey’s duties. Former Chargers’ cornerback Asante Samuel Jr. remains without a contract. Regardless of whether he signs or not, the Chargers could use Ramsey’s services. The recently acquired corner Donte Jackson from the Pittsburgh Steelers helps their case but does not solve it.
Finally, why not where Jackson just came from? The Steelers have a plethora of cap space remaining and could easily handle Ramsey’s contract. Along with that, they have a hole at the position, and the young corner Joey Porter Jr. could use a running mate. The type of football that Ramsey plays would gel incredibly well with head coach Mike Tomlin and the Steelers’ style of hard-hitting play.
With Ramsey on the move, who will fight to land the decade-long NFL star?
