The Los Angeles Rams could be without star wide receiver Davante Adams for their crucial Week 16 Thursday Night Football (TNF) matchup against NFC West rivals, the Seattle Seahawks. Both are tied 11-3 heading into a game that could decide the NFC’s top seed.
Adams is dealing with a hamstring injury that has placed his availability for Thursday night in serious doubt, leaving the Rams uncertain about whether their top offensive weapon will be on the field. Here’s the latest update on his injury status.
What Injury Is Davante Adams Dealing With?
Adams is battling a hamstring strain, an issue that has lingered at different points throughout his season. The injury worsened during the second half of the Rams’ 41-34 win over the Detroit Lions in Week 15.
The wide receiver went down while running a deep route and remained on the turf until trainers arrived. Adams then limped directly to the locker room for further evaluation.
This is not Adams’ first hamstring issue of the year. He dealt with a similar problem earlier in the season, during a Week 13 loss to the Carolina Panthers. While he managed the injury with limited practices, Sunday’s setback appears more concerning given the short turnaround to Thursday night.

Adams’ Latest Injury Update And Rams Practice Participation This Week
The Rams have officially listed Adams as doubtful for Week 16 against the Seahawks.
While “doubtful” does not entirely rule him out, it typically points to a very low likelihood of playing, especially in a prime-time road game with a short turnaround. That said, head coach Sean McVay stopped short of officially ruling him out, leaving the door slightly open.
“He’s as tough as it gets,” McVay said. “I want to see what it looks like with the time we have.”
As for his practice availability, it has not been encouraging for Adams so far.

With the Rams playing on Thursday, the lack of on-field work reduces Adams’ chances of being fully ready for Thursday Night. Although the Rams’ offensive coordinator, Mike LaFleur, acknowledged how difficult it would be to replace Adams if he’s unable to go.
“You guys have seen how valuable he’s been for us in so many different ways,” LaFleur said. “Even over the last few weeks, just the amount of attention he gets in situational football, whether it’s in the red zone or third downs.”
Adams has thrived as the focal point of the Rams’ offense, especially in red-zone packages and three-tight-end sets. However, if he is ruled out, the Rams will be forced to rely heavily on Puka Nacua, who is coming off a dominant Week 15 performance with nine catches for 181 yards against Detroit.
Nacua ranks first in PFSN’s WR Impact rating this season with a 99.6 score and an A+ grade, but the Rams have leaned heavily on his physical style, and he has dealt with his own injuries this season.
