So far at the trade deadline, the Dallas Cowboys have yet to make their big move. Trading for Logan Wilson was one thing, but the team awaits a trade that sends shockwaves through the NFL. Everything seemed to be coming together in Dallas, finally, but now the team sits at 3-5-1. They are second in the NFC East, a division they knew would be a challenge with the Philadelphia Eagles still at the top.
ESPN’s Adam Schefter Comments On The Cowboys Trade Deadline Activity
With a few hours remaining, the Cowboys are far from out of it. Jones may have a trick or two up his sleeve, but as everyone knows, the deadline is most active right at the final hours. Now that the NFL is entering that territory, it begs the question of whether the Cowboys will do anything else to improve themselves on either side of the ball.
“I think Dallas is still making calls right now..
We’ll see if Miami can get something done for Bradley Chubb” ~ @AdamSchefter #PMSLive https://t.co/OYBVWIICGa pic.twitter.com/8OOfWmqIiG

“I would say that right now, I think Dallas is still making calls. We’ll see if Miami can get something for Bradley Chubb. There’s a lot of stuff going on,” Schefter said.

Schefter likely knows more than anyone else, though he has to keep it close to his heart. Until a deal is done, nothing will come out of his mouth. His mentioning Chubb is significant, as that could be a direct correlation with the Cowboys, although those are only rumors for the time being.
Earlier today, the Cowboys made a trade with the Cincinnati Bengals for linebacker Logan Wilson. All it took for Jones was a seventh-round pick, one that was basically a no-brainer for a Cowboys team that has struggled to put anything together on defense. While Wilson was a start, Cowboys fans in particular would love it if Schefter’s quote became a reality.
Chubb, 29, is in his third year with the Miami Dolphins. He was traded to Miami after beginning his career in Denver from 2018 to 22. The Dolphins have enjoyed his company, though everything seems to be up in the air for the Dolphins. After firing their GM and knowing head coach Mike McDaniel is on the hot seat after this season, it would make sense for them to host a fire sale.
The NC State graduate has 25 total tackles this season as he looks to return to form, similar to his performance in 2023. That year, Chubb had 73 total tackles and 11 sacks. It marked the first year he had 10 or more sacks since his rookie season in 2018. After missing the entire 2024 season, the Cowboys must question how much they are willing to give up.

Led by QB Dak Prescott, the Cowboys get to enjoy a Week 10 Bye. Prescott, who has a B in PFSN’s QB Impact Metric, would love a few defensive superstars to step up after the team traded Micah Parsons in the offseason.
