Commanders Floated as Ideal Landing Spot for $120M All-Pro WR to Help Jayden Daniels

After a rough season, the Commanders could eye a $120M wideout to spark Jayden Daniels’ rise and reshape their offense.

After a successful year for the Washington Commanders in 2024, 2025 was nothing but a disappointment, as Jayden Daniels and the team finished with a 5-12 record.

With additions needed to revamp their offense to what it was only a season ago, Washington is predicted to make a move for a big-time West Coast wide receiver.

Commanders Predicted to Acquire $120M Wide Receiver for Jayden Daniels

In PFSN’s NFL Offensive Impact Metric (OFFi) for the 2024 season, the Commanders ranked as one of the best offensive units in football. They finished the regular season with an impact score of 84.0 and a letter grade of B, ranking No. 6 in the league.

Only one year later, the team dropped five spots to No. 11 in the NFL. In PFSN’s metric, it finished with an impact score of 78.1 and a grade of C-plus. The offense remained mostly the same, with the major change being the addition of Deebo Samuel in the offseason. Yet it seemed the team had lost some of the momentum it had in 2024.

To address that, Underdog Fantasy’s Hayden Winks predicts that Washington will trade for a disgruntled wide receiver from the West Coast. He said:

“Brandon Aiyuk, Commanders. He has friends there, that’s like all I’m going off of. We don’t know if he wants to play football but he played football with Jayden Daniels, has the same exact front office that he’s used to; maybe they re-sign Deebo Samuel. If he wants to play, he’s very good.”

In 2024, Brandon Aiyuk signed a rookie extension worth $120 million over four years, averaging $30 million per year. Since then, things have gone downhill between Aiyuk and the San Francisco 49ers.

In October 2024, Aiyuk suffered a torn ACL and MCL that ended his season. At the beginning of 2025, he started the season on the physically unable to perform list while continuing to rehab the injury.

As the 2025 season progressed, the 49ers remained a contender despite season-ending injuries to numerous players, including Fred Warner and Nick Bosa. The team initially thought Aiyuk would return, but he was placed on the reserve/left squad list, making him unavailable for the rest of the season.

Throughout, there was friction between Aiyuk and the team that grew over time. Now, it appears the wide receiver could have a new home, and the Commanders are a viable option, considering he played with Daniels for one season at Arizona State University.

In five seasons, Aiyuk has 294 receptions for 4,305 receiving yards and 25 touchdowns in 69 regular-season games. In PFSN’s Wide Receiver Impact Metric, his best season was in 2023, when he ranked as the fourth-best receiver with an impact score of 92.7 and a letter grade of A-.
