Commanders Announce Terry McLaurin, Jacory Croskey-Merritt Injury Updates on Friday for Week 10

The Commanders will face the Lions in Week 10. Here is the latest update on the injuries to Terry McLaurin and Jacory Croskey-Merritt.

The Washington Commanders started their season with the aim of winning the Super Bowl, but things have not gone as planned. This week, their injury list included over 10 players, including the likes of Terry McLaurin, Jacory Croskey-Merritt, and Jayden Daniels.

The Commanders have been poor this year. They have a record of 3-6, and are only ahead of the New York Giants in the NFC East. Washington lost all its preseason games and has only won against the Giants, the Las Vegas Raiders, and the Los Angeles Chargers.

Latest on Terry McLaurin and Jacory Croskey-Merritt’s Injuries

McLaurin, the Commanders’ star receiver, is still on the injury report that was released on November 7. He played in Week 8 against the Kansas City Chiefs after missing four games with a quad injury and recorded three receptions for 54 yards and one touchdown.

He hasn’t played since then due to the same quad injury. McLaurin did not practice at all this week and is officially ruled out for the Week 10 game against the Detroit Lions. In four games this season, the 30-year-old wideout has 13 receptions for 203 yards and a touchdown.

Croskey-Merritt was listed on the Commanders’ injury report due to a tooth issue. However, he fully practiced on Thursday and Friday after missing Wednesday’s practice, and he is expected to play in Week 10.

In nine games this season, Croskey-Merritt has rushed for 440 yards and four touchdowns on 94 carries. He is averaging 4.7 yards per carry and has also recorded eight receptions for 63 yards.

Based on PFSN’s RB Impact, Croskey-Merritt is ranked 19th among the running backs in the league this season. His availability will be a huge boost for the Commanders as they will be without their starting quarterback, Jayden Daniels.

Daniels suffered a serious elbow injury in the Week 9 loss against the Seattle Seahawks, and he is expected to face a lengthy spell on the sidelines. In his absence, Marcus Mariota will be the Commanders’ quarterback against the Lions.

According to PFSN’s Offense Impact metric, the Commanders have the 14th-ranked offense in the league. If Washington wants to jump up in the rankings, then Mariota and Co. will need to be strategic about finding ways to fill the gaps left by their injured players.

After the Week 10 game against the Lions, the Commanders will face the Miami Dolphins and then have a bye in Week 12.
