‘Looks Absolutely Horrific,’ ‘Trying To Get Traded’ — NFL World Reacts to Marvin Harrison Jr.’s Struggles in Training Camp

Marvin Harrison Jr.'s struggles at the Arizona Cardinals' training camp sparked reactions from many in the NFL community on social media.

In recent years, the Arizona Cardinals have been one of the most interesting teams in the NFL. They were a team that should have been making the playoffs with Kyler Murray leading them at quarterback, but in a very difficult division and with a number of other factors, it only happened once.

Selecting WR Marvin Harrison Jr. at fourth overall in 2024 was supposed to be the piece that could make the Cardinals a playoff team once again. He was a perfect WR to have with Murray, but it’s been a disappointment so far, and even with the veteran QB no longer on the team, it seems like that won’t change.

Marvin Harrison Jr.’s Training Camp Struggles Should Be a Concern for the Cardinals

When Harrison Jr. was selected, he was viewed as one of the best WR prospects in a while. There was a pretty good chance he could become a star right away, but the opposite has happened. In his rookie year, Harrison Jr. finished the season 41st in PFN’s WR Impact Metric, which is fine for a rookie, but he ended the 2025 season one spot lower at 42nd.

The QB play has not been good in Arizona, which has hurt Marvin Harrison Jr., but there have been drop issues from the young player as well. Speaking of drops, those issues have already been clear in training camp, and the NFL World has reacted.

Fantasy football analyst Scott Barrett jokingly hoped that the clip of Harrison Jr. struggling in training camp was AI, “Please tell me this is AI”.

One account on X poked fun at Harrison Jr.’s route running, “Harrison runs routes as crispy as a hippo in mud”.

Baltimore radio show Nitty Gritty Sports Talk gave their opinion on the Cardinals’ current WR room and suggested that Harrison Jr. may not be the best WR in the group: “I hope they realize Michael Wilson is their best receiver….”

Content creator Zirksee spoke on a Harrison Jr. trade and that a new home may be the best for his career moving forward.

He wrote, “I honestly could see a situation [where] Marvin Harrison gets traded this year. Kid’s confidence is shot, Michael Wilson outperforming him, you know he hears the noise. All of these training clips of drops will gain attention and he’ll feel the pressure even more. He needs a reset.”

One Seattle Seahawks fan account stated blankly, “Bro looks absolutely horrific.”

Another account brought up the “generational” tag put on Harrison Jr. when he came out of college and how disappointing it’s been since. The account said, “Genuinely what happened to Marvin Harrison Jr? He can’t catch a ball, his routes look stiff, and he just has no confidence at all. This was a “generational” WR prospect.”

Fantasy football analyst Chris Dell also poked fun at people thinking Harrison Jr. is the best WR on the roster. He said, “If you think Marvin Harrison Jr. is a better football player than Michael George Wilson, then please join my new fantasy league rn.”

Fantasy football analyst LaQuan Jones could not believe how bad Harrison Jr.’s struggles have been, leading him to actually think the young WR is doing it to get traded, “Marvin’s Harrison Jr. trying to get traded. Cuz ain’t no way..”

Earlier in the offseason, Harrison Jr. was a part of some trade rumors, but those were shut down pretty quickly.

It’s understandable that the Cardinals still want to believe in Harrison Jr., but it’s probably better for all parties involved if the young WR goes somewhere else. A rebuilding team like the Cardinals will appreciate some draft capital in return, and the team getting Harrison Jr. would hope to fix the issues.
