Caleb Williams has emerged as a top quarterback in the league after a rough first season. The Chicago Bears surprised everyone by winning the NFC North last season and came close to beating the Los Angeles Rams in the Divisional Round.
Head coach Ben Johnson is a major reason for their success, but nothing would have been possible without Williams’ heroics in clutch moments. The Bears star has also earned the “Iceman” nickname, and Super Bowl champion Charles Omenihu recently had something to say about him.
Charles Omenihu Praises Caleb Williams
In a recent appearance on “Speakeasy,” Omenihu was asked to name the five scariest quarterbacks in the league, excluding former teammate Patrick Mahomes. He listed Josh Allen, Matthew Stafford, Joe Burrow, Lamar Jackson, and Caleb Williams, in no particular order.
“I gotta put my dog Caleb Williams up there,” Omenihu said. “I ain’t gonna lie to you, bro, like, somebody that has shown over and over and over that it ain’t over until the fat lady sings, and he can run, and he can make every throw, every single throw. That’s somebody that I respect the hell out of his game.”
Omenihu then referenced Williams’ nickname, “Iceman,” and how Drake should release his new album, which is also named “Iceman.”
“After this past year, I respect his game crazy,” Omenihu added. “Because he has shown it in moments where it’s like, bro, it’s [clutch] time, and he’s doing it. He is throwing dots, and then he going cold shoulder, Iceman. Drake, drop the album, bro… he’s going iceman on your a** bro.”
The Bears finished last season with an 11-6 record and defeated the Green Bay Packers in a memorable Wild Card Round game. Chicago overcame a 21-3 deficit at halftime and outscored Green Bay 28-6 in the second half to win the game.
Williams finished the game 24-of-48 with 361 yards, two touchdowns, and two interceptions. He also threw a 25-yard touchdown to DJ Moore late in the fourth quarter, which turned out to be the game-winning score.
Last season, the Bears quarterback proved that he can make big plays in a clutch and doesn’t melt under pressure. However, he isn’t consistent yet and needs to improve more to solidify himself as a top-five quarterback in the league.
Williams completed just 58.1% of his throws last season, and that is a major concern. According to PFSN’s QB Impact Metric, Williams finished last season as the 20th-ranked quarterback in the league with an impact score of 76.1 and was given a C grade.

The Bears star is also involved in a legal battle with NBA legend George Gervin over the “Iceman” nickname, and it will be interesting to see how that plays out.
As for Drake, the Canadian rapper has yet to announce the release date of his album. Given Williams’ popularity and rising hype, you could expect him to appear in a video alongside the artist for one of the album’s songs.
