The first College GameDay is the sign that college football is here for Saturdays to come. But to some fans, it has strayed away from the show that brought them so much entertainment and excitement.
The SEC has become a main talking point on the show frequently, and fans of the Group of 6 teams are taking their turns ripping the show for its biases.
G6 CFB Fans Rip College GameDay for Disrespectful Coverage
College GameDay is in Baton Rouge for the highly anticipated LSU-Clemson battle to kick off the season.

It’s hard to argue they made the wrong choice with that game, but the coverage while on campus has pissed off many in the college football world.
One segment covered the fact that Northern Illinois had moved conferences to the Mountain West, and Kirk Herbstreit trolled the fact that only a few fans in the stands knew that.
“What happened to the show I grew up on? Mocking 70 fan bases on the biggest CFB show is actually insane, and people are somehow shocked when G6 fans don’t tune in,” said one G6 fan.

There were a few fans in Baton Rouge who were aware of the Huskies making the switch. Of course, one G6 fan knew it, sitting at home and sarcastically joking that he couldn’t tell that GameDay was at LSU.
“I knew NIU was in the mountain west, can’t say I knew gameday was at LSU until this clip though Thanks for smacking my fandom in the face this morning, something had to wake me up,” added a G6 fan.

One fan took the chance to rip on Herbstreit, who made fun of the Huskies today and also in the past when they were chosen to play in the 2013 Discover Orange Bowl.
“What a joke, he also [expletive] on them 15 years ago. Its always been [expletive] Kirk Herbstreit idgaf the most unlikable analyst in sports. At some point people need to stop putting up with his charade,” said one fan.
Fans aren’t happy with all the SEC coverage that happens on College GameDay despite the show being meant for all the games. Although the game of the week contains LSU, fans are expressing their frustrations with the consistent focus on SEC teams no matter where the show may be.
“All [College GameDay] does is punch down at any team not in the SEC. I wish there were an alternative, but all the pregame shows are the same: boost up the “top teams” and push down everyone else,” said one fan.

“They didn’t even do picks for FSU vs SMU on Monday Night. And the ACC is supposed to be an ESPN property,” said one fan.
Others aren’t happy with how FOX covers the Big Ten, but are willing to concede that at least they own the fact that they’re mostly about the Big Ten.
“Fox = B1G and they admit it. ESPN still disguising the SEC lobbying,” said one fan.

While many G6 fans were melting down, one fan took the opportunity to offer an uplifting message to fellow G6 fans, noting that they outnumber those who attend the power conference schools.
“Don’t let conglomerates likes ESPN shame you for being a fan of a G6 school. Only 12.5% of all college students in our country attend a P4 school, G6 and lower are the majority! Be proud of where you went to school, and never let the talking heads tell you otherwise!” said one fan.

College GameDay is going to need to figure out a balance or it’s in danger of losing some of its audience.

The Group of 6 has representation in the College Football Playoff and wants to be respected as such, but the segment today has left G6 fans disgusted with how they are treated compared to SEC fans.
