An ongoing NIL dispute between LSU and Jayden Daniels continues to stir conversation online.
Now, the controversy is once again in the spotlight as LSU left the Washington Commanders quarterback out of its “NFLSU” pregame video against the Clemson Tigers.
College Football Fans Mock Jayden Daniels After LSU Leaves Him Out of ‘NFLSU’ Pregame Video
Last month, Daniels and his camp demanded that the school stop using his name, image, and likeness and sent a cease-and-desist letter after the school gave his No. 5 to sophomore cornerback DJ Pickett.
As per his wishes, LSU did not include Daniels in their “NFLSU” video.

After the clip went viral, fans started blaming Daniels and his mother Regina Jackson for the awkward situation. Fans argued that the dispute had damaged what Daniels had built in Baton Rouge.

Jackson serves as Daniels’ NFLPA-certified contract advisor and agent. Previously, Jackson and Ron Butler both represented Daniels. However, the NFLPA now lists his mother as his sole representative.

Some fans were critical of Daniels for the jersey controversy.

Onyx Odds’ X account added another jab, sharing an image featuring a sports anchor alongside a young fan holding a sign that read, “Jayden. Don’t sue me Im only 7.”

In the 2023 season, Daniels won the Heisman Trophy while rocking the No. 5 at LSU.
Daniels’ camp reportedly considered the number a key part of his Tigers legacy and wanted it to be honored. Under school policy, a player must be at least five years removed from the program before LSU can consider retiring his number.
However, when LSU gave No. 5 to Pickett, Daniels’ camp saw the move as disrespectful. From there, the situation escalated into a legal battle.

Another user went even further, claiming, “This guy is gonna bomb out of the NFL 100%. He thinks he’s Tom Brady.”
All things considered, Daniels and his camp could have prevented this entire situation, especially considering his status as an LSU legend.
He led the Tigers to a 10-3 record during the 2023 season and finished No. 1 in PFN’s QB Impact Score that year with an outstanding 99.4 grade.
Unfortunately, the controversy has now reached the point where even some LSU fans aren’t shy about outlining their distaste for the situation.
